I wonder what would have happened if Barlow played the full game. Fifth equal possession getter for us after playing only half of the game with 20.
Umpiring was disgraceful as was our first half. We missed Ballantyne too. :(
Rubbish. Pods did almost nothing in the 2nd half. I thought Dawson was servicable taking into account that it was his first game for the club.
Only out should be Pearce and Mundy in if available. If not then Neale.
B: Ibbotson Silvagni Duffield
HB: Broughton McPharlin Mzungu
C: Morabito Fyfe Hill
HF: DeBoer Clarke Walters
F: Ballantyne Pavlich Mayne
R: Sandilands Mundy Barlow
I: Anthony Suban Lower S: Pitt
Bolded are the players who should almost be certanties each week unless injuried.
No...
IMO he tried to chase at 100% effort but his body was just too spent so it looked like that he is not trying as hard.
I thought some of the Ballantyne chasing was absolutely amazing.
I thought that chase happened late in the 4th quarter when the game was pretty much over. The chase near the boundary line???
I thought he played one of his best games for Freo and I certainly did not see any lack of effort.
Two things cost us today:
1. Inaccurate kicking for goal. I guess it was just one of these days but unfortunately opposition was Geelong rather than one of the weaker teams.
2. Inability to shut down the corridor soon enough on too many ocassions.
Although it was very disappointing to...
I do not mind to stick with less talented player who gives 100% every time but I hate to see lack of interest and laziness on the field which can demotivate other players. Unless M.Johnson changes his ways (which I highly doubt) Kepler is ahead of him. It is good to have talent but it means zero...
I would replace JVB with De Boer. JVB did not do much wrong but De Boer is better as a defensive player. Having both of them with Crowley and McPhee would be an overload of strictly negating players.
Bradley will go ahead of Johnson although he did not deserve it. As many have said he did...
Yes, but arguably only Barlow would be in our top 10 players and hence I think that we are coming in stronger than 60%. We need to win this game against the team that many say will finish last this year if we are going to be taken seriously. It is going to be hard but if we play at our best we...
A bit of overreaction, dont you think? I have never been happier with the overall situation of our club. We are very strong off field and are getting there on field. Surely you can tolerate different shade of purple colour without comparing us to West Coast .
I love new jumpers and prefer them to the old ones which were too colourfull. I do not like the current song and if better alternative is available I am all for changing it. People will always have different opinions and one cannot satisfy everyone. At the end of the day it is still Fremantle...
I appreciate Grover's intensity and desire but I always get nervous when he is around the ball. IMO he is just not a very smart footballer and more often than not gives stupid free kicks away. I personally would not have him in our best 21. The only value I can see is his experience factor...
It is all inside his head but he wil have to master his demons. Easier said than done and it will be a slow proccess but I am confident he is going to get there eventually.
I watched only one pre season game this year and it was in Bunbury. Palmer's foot skills were OK and he was one of the best on the ground. He obviously has some foot skills defficiencies but people are over exaggerating them. When he gets his confidence up I am pretty sure his foot skills will...
1. Brisbane 65% (WIN)
2. Geelong 50%
3. Adelaide 25% (LOSS)
4. North 80% (WIN)
0 : 4 would be self destructive
1 : 3 would be disappointing
2 : 2 pass (most likely scenario that I would be happy with it)
3 : 1 Very good
4 : 0 Impressive
While watching our pre season game vs WB in Bunbury I kept thinking about this and have to agree that Crowley and De Boer should swap roles. Both are good marks but Crowley is a better set shot on goal. De Boer's intensity in the midfield would be welcomed too.
B: Broughton Silvagni McPhee...
In AFL fitness plays a big part while in soccer it is important but you do not need to be extremely fit. What I want to say is that in Soccer a more skillfull team will almost always win and if you do not have an adequate skills you do not stand a chance while in AFL it can often be the fitter...
I was thinking about this last night and Clarke's time is NOW!!! He needs to be given every opportunity to develop this year. He and Sandilands to rotate between forward and ruck. Johnson is just not very effective in the ruck and is too loose in defence. I am not too sure where to play him but...
Well, it is a good squad based on the number of injuried players we've got. I always like to see us winning the 1st round of the NAB cup and later on I am not too fussed.
Does anyone know if the game/s going to be shown on free to air TV? I heard somewhere that Ch 7 might be televising it.
Yesterday was a sad day for AFL. Two great champions in Gary Ablett and our own Matthew Pavlich and the entire footy community were made to look like fools to protect the interests of AFL and those of Chris Judd.
Matthew Pavlich scar is still clearly evident 3 months after the incident and...
Our advantages will be freshness/no travelling, home crowd and youngsters enthusiasm. They'll have advantage in hardness, finals experience and Buddy/Roughead factor. Unfortunately I think Hawks will prove too strong and beat us by about 16 points. Tarrant, Barlow and Balla would swing it in our...
Crowley IN Ballantyne OUT - Obvious change and one that will almost certainly be made
Palmer IN Van Berlo OUT - I think we will need fresh Palmer run against Hawks.
Silvagni IN Roberton OUT (if Silvagni is not available bring in Kepler) - need a bigger body to help against Frankiln/Roughead...
There are errors and there are critical errors. I have read your rundown and have watched the last 5 minutes couple of times. Other players made some very ordinary skill errors which you could kind of explain by the amount of pressure that there was on but yes they were shocking disposals...
