Judd-Not the Best OR the Fairest

WTF? Do two wrongs make a right? Ahhh no!

What about when Selwood was bagging out Headland's daughter? Headland was provoked and punched Selwood. Now, I'm not condoning what Headland did, but he was provoked. So based on your ridiculously stupid logic Headland's antics were appropriate!!

Well the Tribunal obviously thought so.

How was he provoked? Rischitelli was on the ground, at the bottom of the pack. Judd was standing up and decided to put his fingers in his eyes.

Tell me you don't have a brain injury.

I'm not talking about at that exact moment in time, but earlier in the game there were a couple of incidents between the two.

McPhee is relevant because the only reason he elbowed Pav was because I think he thought it was him behind him. Pav and Judd are -pretty good mates, don't they have a racehorse together.

Look, I'm not looking for a fight - going into last night's count Judd was mentioned as a chance. He won, what's the big deal?

Yesterday was a sad day for AFL. Two great champions in Gary Ablett and our own Matthew Pavlich and the entire footy community were made to look like fools to protect the interests of AFL and those of Chris Judd.

Matthew Pavlich scar is still clearly evident 3 months after the incident and will be there probably for the rest of his life but AFL said to Matthew that the contact was not forceful enough and you are just soft Matthew. G. Ablett should have two medals now but unfair Best and Fairest player won it unfairly. He was robbed and then there is us supporters. We got these lame excuse that the contact was not forceful enough where Pav left the field with his cheek bleeding and requiring stitches. We are not fools and should not be treated as such by AFL.:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

So what you are saying is that the offense did NOT happen and that because Judd was mistaken that he should be let off. Let me make this simple for you so that you can understand.

If anyone did that to Judd they would be suspended for at LEAST 2 weeks. The fact that Judd did it raises questions about the entire integrity (If there ever was any!!) of the AFL and Match Review Panel.

The big deal is that Judd was NEITHER the Best or Fairest player. The Pre Requisite to win the Brownlow.

Now dry up and blow away in the wind!

Check my first post DockerLand - I said he deserved to be suspended for the incident with Pav.

You're right - the incident shows up the glaring inequalities in the MRP and tribunal system. You don't have to tell me about glaring inadequacies there - since my own club was robbed of a flag in 2005 when Barry Hall was cleared to play after punching Matt Maguire in the prelim...

What I'm getting at is - it's not his fault he won the ****ing medal - they gave it to him. And I don't think it's that much of a surprise.

Yet listening to some of the posts on here it's like the bloke's bloody Hitler. Yes, he's been guilty of a few indiscretions - what I'm saying is that it's pretty much understandable given the treatment he cops that he reacts.

I would of ratherd Sandi to win it rather than that ****! Very undeserving and should of been rubbed out... Very much jus ta popularity compitition:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Judd, like all quality players get tagged. it is the responsibility of the umpires to police games correctly. Unfortunately these same umpired can only see a few players in the ground when giving votes. How Barlow got 0 votes for his amazing game in Round 1 is an outrage.

Judd was clearly given votes when he was not in the best 3 players on the ground during this season. Nobody blames him for taking the medal. Hell, if I was in that same position I would take it too. The whole argument is that he did not DESERVE it. There were a series of stuff ups by the AFL, umpires and Match Review Panel that have resulted in the WRONG person winning.

The Brownlow has never been an accurate indicator of who the best player over the season was. Wayne Carey and Gary Ablett Snr are 2 recent greats who did not win a brownlow.

It's unpredictability is a part of its allure imo. If we knew going into it that Swan was going to win, it would make it far less interesting.

And it has always been like this. It's just now we have a heap of media awards telling us who the best player has been. AFL gets a mountain more media coverage now. There are POTY awards left, right and centre. If the media wasn't as large and influential as they are, there would be a far smaller outcry.

People should stop crying over spilt milk and get over it. Judd is a champion of the game and deserves his medal.

Having said that, he was lucky to avoid suspension though ;)

Ok, but it happens all the time.

Let's face it, how an award that has failed to recognise players like Carey, Ablett Snr, Whitten or Matthews can still cause the argument it does is beyond me.

So Judd wasn't the best player in the 2010 season? Big deal.

He's a far more deserving winner than Libba was. Or Hardie. Or Wynd. Or Woewoddin. The list goes on - I just can't understand the outpouring of emotion over it.

Well put Kenny - my thoughts exactly.

Watching the RD 22 game, I couldn't believe Stephen Hill failing to get a vote/s at the expense of Judd. Apart from Sandilands, he was the dominant player on the ground.

May be wrong but didn't Sandilands cough the ball up to Judd & Judd failed to convert when the game was in the balance?

Me either. Get over it people. That is and always will be The Brownlow. Move on.

RD 22: Hill, Johnson, Mundy should have been ahead of Judd for brownlow votes. Game was over really after 3/4 29points up and though the score line shows only 6 points at final term there was no doubt who the better team was and our guys took the foot off for the last quarter in prep for 1st final

RD 13: Again up by 26 points at 3/4 we took the foot off and only one by 9 points, but why would Judd have polled 2 votes?? Surley sandi should have been 2 votes and one of Ibbo, or Kepla for the 1 vote

Highlights how much the muppets who umpire us like us

Brownlow has gone way down on my list of things to what next year

Truest words ever to be posted on BF.

Has to be the most unatractive women I've ever seen in my life.

hahahaha anyone watching the grand final preview?

Matthews, Richardson and Judd were talking about the incident. Matthews said it was 50-50, benefit of the doubt. Richardson said there was no force behind it and Judd justifies it by saying there was no blood. Yeah Judd is really going to say "I knew I'd get away with it, probably could've done more"

Load of absolute crap

"If it wasn't Judd it wouldn't have even been talked about"

pfft. If it wasn't Judd it'd be like 2-3 weeks.

Just to show our regard for the hopeless outcome we should have a new category of player award.
It would be called 'The Juddy' or something. It would represent high achievement in catching the umpire's eye while being just above mediocre at best.
