Hoping Reid becomes the creative, classy, goal assist type player we need in the front half. Not sold on the others and disappointed to lose big Max. Feel we missed a trick not adding more mature age pick ups and not filling some gaps with small forwards and running wing types.
Haven’t seen enough of him to make an in depth judgement but his highlights are average and just looks like an athlete rather than a footballer. Kicking a big question mark too. Hope I’m proven wrong.
Happy with the Reid pick, time will tell with the other two but not optimistic. Boring draft but probably shows the work has been done the previous 5 or so years and it’s time to seriously challenge with the list we’ve developed.
My guess would be Wagner stays sub, Sturt comes in and Walters is the emergency.
Without JVR though I’d probably prefer Draper missing out and Wagner playing the full game and Walters the sub.
His kicking outside of the missed set shot was first class. Wagner was also a standout and deserves a game as we desperately need that run and penetration from the back half.
Good confidence boost and after a poor first quarter and a half it was good to cruise to a big victory.
Brodie playing his best game for the year and looked to move quite well and use the ball better.
Chappy is ready to go at AFL level and feel Worner, Wagner and Davies could all slot in and...
Been a real ordinary game. Chapman and Wagner have provided good run though and Brodie has been solid.
Mid forward connection and conversion been poor all half too.
Effort was good but execution still needs a lot of work.
Biggest concern is still our bottom end players/lack of depth which is glaring at the moment.
Credit to JL and the coaching staff though who have re-established our team defence as one of the best in the league and given us every chance...
Tough to judge in less than a qtr and not playing the inside role which is clearly his go.
Was stiff with the first holding the ball which was clearly a wrong call and one of the others he was set up by Jacko too.
He needs to adjust to the speed of the game and be quicker with his decision...
Really good win considering the teams on paper.
The Peel players were very good too across the board.
Thought Stanley and Chappy were the pick of the freo boys and Heath should be back in the seniors sooner rather than later.
Davies another strong week, Brodie was ok but didn’t have much...
Looks like Cooper out (probably sore after the last few weeks and that kick/trip). Also still no Voss, Worner or Williams. Reidy not listed either but may come in if not needed in Adelaide.
Stanley into the league squad and Sturt back in too.
Think it’ll just be Raz, JOM and hopefully Darcy if fit for Tabs and then possibly Cooper or Brodie as sub.
Think Chapman will play another Peel game then in for the derby.
Hard to judge today though as it was an average game all round.
Think Davies could be an option if needed at some stage...
Pretty poor game all round but looked a very weak team on paper.
Chapman was solid and Brodie serviceable but not damaging really.
Simpson and Delean show flashes and may improve in a better team.
Reidy is a standard big body back up ruckman.
Hugh was reasonable down back and Noddy pretty...
All things considered we played the game on our terms most of the day and the clearance work was elite even with Jackson lowering his colours in the ruck. I thought our pressure was good too with numerous run down tackles and smothers which was our main score source in the match.
Key areas of...
Tough one to swallow.
Need our mids to use the ball better.
A few are being harsh on Jye too who wasn’t great but could’ve easily had 3 or 4 with switta taking the advantage on one, Sonny taking the htb set shot and another set shot just missing.
Would like to see Raz rotated forward a bit with Peel as I feel he has decent goal sense and could develop another string to his bow.
His tackling is generally good, can compete overhead and reads the play well which would be a plus in that role.
Always handy to have someone who can rotate in...
Jacob Blight was exceptional again and Anderson provided some real spark in the second half but a lack of a forwardline was the difference.
Looked more dangerous with Hamling down there but other than that it was pedestrian.
Peel must be confident though if they are anywhere close at 3/4 time...
Yeah great fight in the second half and a quality win in the end. Bell and Sears the standouts and solid second halves from Reidy, Colyer, Brodie to get Peel home.
