While Brodie setup the winning goal, he got cleaned up front on contact. Umpire was literally watching and did nothing. He was pulled off so hopefully not a concussion?

Blair bell had a huge second half. Best on ground.
I only started watching the game half way through the third but based on what I viewed I would completely agree. Considering I watched the last Peel game Peel played against Subiaco Ive got to say Reidy's improvement in terms of his work around the ground has come a long way in that time as he got smashed by Clark the last time we played Subiaco and today he was pretty close to matching him in the game time I saw. Geez Josh Corbett could have a good game if we'd kicked better to him. By my count he got open within goal range three times and wasnt used.

Also I mentioned mid year that I thought some Peel players might have a better chance of making it than the prospects being talked up for the Mid Season Draft.

Jack Sears is one I’ve always thought was a good but not brilliant WAFL players. Sometimes these guys are more suited to being role players at AFL than guys that dominate at WAFL level.

I don’t think Smith is that far behind Hamish Free if at all and Free was drafted last year. I will say though I was shocked when Free was drafted.

I also think I’ve seen worse KPDs play AFL than Blight.

Realistically athleticism is probably the reason these guys don’t get drafted but tbh I don’t think their athleticism is so bad they can’t make it - I did think that with Buller and he got drafted in the MSD anyway!

Didn’t see the game but the comments are an interesting read!
Sounds like peel did the common thing of liking crap in the first half before the superior fitness of the AFL players comes to the fore as the game wore on?

How did Tholstrup look? Like a top 20 national draft selection?

Sounds to me like Noddy will have to pull his finger out fast if wants an AFL career. He’s OOC next years isn’t he? If he has another season like 2022 he would be struggling to remain on the list I would have thought. There’s serious competition for list spots as we have already seen this year

Tholstrup didn't do a lot but did a couple of nice things, reminds me of a poor man's Cam Rayner.
Would be surprised if he went in the top 20.

Blair Bell took the midfield on his back and carried them to victory. What a monster 2nd half.

Reidy and Smith started getting very physical with Clarke and they made their mark. Reidy has some critical clearances. It was Reidy and Blair Bell who took control at the centre clearance.

Reidy with a much much better 2nd half. Raised his intensity to an appropriate level. I’m still not convinced he’s got enough tricks or is athletic enough to be an afl player, he at least showed a few signs the 2nd half after a disappointing 1st half.

Colyer with an all time worst 1st half got to work. Hit some crumbs at pace and was influential in the 2nd half. Had a 5 minute patch in the 3rd quarter where he was BOG.

Emmett kicked the sealer. Much better 2nd half but still a bit scratchy with his skills.

O’Driscoll came alive and was quite influential in the 4th. Kicking skills still hit and miss, Peel could have sealed the game had he hit an inside 50 to a forward or simply kicked the goal. He crossed the 50m in open space and kicked it between the goals and forward hitting neither.

Brodie much better 2nd half, tackle intent lifted and even chased someone down. Much much better.

Wilson had a classic short steps into a marking contest then fell down with an injury. Did some nice runs and long kicks.

Davies - needs a bit of work. He didn’t look comfortable the whole game. Subiaco went with a clear plan of running Hamling up the field and leaving Davies inside 50. He did OK without showing too much. Needs a preseason.

Worner - lifted in the last quarter but lost a crucial one on one against an inexperienced player.

Hamling - gun

Wagner got sat on heavily and didn’t cope too well with it. Started to position himself a bit better in the 2nd half and began contributing with positive ball movement.

Corbett - competed hard but lacks athleticism.

He has AFL level agility but very WAFL balance. That goal he scored last week was a classic: Went to baulk a guy on the turn but slipped over instead and end up doing the splits, but somehow bouced up and ran into an open goal..
Yeah he’s definitively agile but that slip up is kinda what I mean. The head is always ahead of what his body can actually do

On insta can see Brayshaw, Young, Serong, Freddy, Amiss, Treacy, Chapman all in attendance. I thought I saw Sean Darcy on the live broadcast but it was so fast I’m not sure.

Erasmus too.
Johnson
Sean Darcy - confirmed
Possibly Alex Pearce too.

Absolutely no issues with club culture if the ALF stars are all getting out int the rain to support their mates.
Maybe Henry’s issue really was he couldn’t find a wingman to hit the clubs with?
