Paddy McCartin announcing he’s now fully fit and good to go for another crack. He’ll be nominating for this years draft.
Hopefully he finds a home and can have a successful career.
By and large. Still too much focus on the outcome than the action.
Example 1 - Burgoyne applies horribly illegal tackle on Danger - he gets up and plays on, attracts a fine only.
Message should be sent with 1 game suspension. Equally poor tackle on Hamill gets 4 which was right, but only...
I think most of that is pretty fair. What gets in my grill is the holier than though halo which seems to surround Hamish and to a lesser extent Reid.
I’ve never thought Hamish has done a particularly bad job, I’ve certainly never thought he should be replaced. I don’t think he’s the genius...
Yeah see I don’t buy it. I think it’s a combo of everyone.
Tom Doedee has developed beautifully. So that goes down as a shrewd pick by Hamish.
Jones struggling, that’s all the coaches fault.
Good deal for Lever - how good is Reid. Gibbs deal a disaster - oh that was someone else.
Every...
So you’re saying that a club which allows its list to become the worst, arguably, in AFL history can lay no blame at the feet of the list manager and head of recruitment? None whatsoever. That right?
I was scathing of the NSW govt on the Ruby issue.
I think you’re mistaken - it’s those on the left that have zero capacity to be objective and will always drag the debate down to petty partisan politics.
Billy’s just not a very good footballer.
His “aggressive” reputation is based on dishing out a few cheap shots in the SANFL last year, and smacking one of his team mates in the mouth during training this year.
If it was 1972 I think Billy would be quite useful to square up with Carl Dietrich...
It’s a meaningless comparison when Luko has played just 12 games and will only play 17. He also plays the equivalent of 3 quarters not 4.
We all know Luko won’t ever get the kudos he’ll deserve:
1. He doesn’t play for a Melb team
2. He’s not a Victorian to be cheered home to Melb
That’s ok...
I actually don’t think the 2 are particularly comparable.
Luko does much more to set them up in an attacking sense, and also he’s not even completed his 2nd year. Even so I don’t recall Lever playing games in his 2nd year like Luko did last night.
Not in the same postcode really.
Lever has certainly fallen away which I suspect is the 2nd recon. At his best with us he was jumping strongly at the ball, either marking or spoiling.
Perfectly understandable the confidence to do that would take a hit.
As we go forward, and assuming he doesn’t bail, EH will forever be an easy target/whipping boy. He’s never going to be a top line key forward. We either need Fog or grab a McDonald for that.
What he can be is a valuable role player who can compete, run interference, create for others, kick...
