The flu is a known virus that mutates slightly every year, and as northern and Southern Hemispheres are opposite, they are able to work out which strain of vaccine that already exists will be most beneficial for that year. The corona virus is novel, meaning new. It may be in a few years time we’ll be living with the virus but have to get seasonal vaccinations for it like we do now with the flu. But right now, we don’t have that luxury.How do they release a new flu vaccine every year if it takes 10 years. But it’s this years strain?
