Footyfan it sounds obvious you are a keen supporter of Hamilton and maybe wishful thinking, but I find it hard to beleive the 2 you mentioned would be heading to Hamilton. over the last 10 years or so there seems to be only one way traffic in Hamilton and it's usually disgruntled local players...
You should be abused for having a man crush on a clown bidda boom.
If you gave Mickey Mouse $100,000 extra on top of the existing expenditure of a team that won 3 games last year I think even he would have done better than 7 wins and a draw !!! (especially considering the depth in the juniors)
If the kid is good enough the coach would have had him on the ground for longer.
If he's better than he showed in his limited time on the ground then thats his fault for not taking the opportunity he had.
We won so I think well done Bruce he got it right.
Anyone could improve the wins/losses given a santa sack full of money. Haven't Hamilton been in nearly every U18 grandfinal in the last 20 years, surely that indicates the talent is there. The difference is quite obvious. Hooker makes a difference with his coaching, Russell does it with cash
I didn't think you were allowed to deny clearances unless the player was under contract or owed the club money/property. I hope Heywood aren't bending the rules and if they are I hope the league is taking measures to ensure this doesn't continue. I hope Heywood can make a go of it this year. If...
You can't seriously beleive Mal Michael was worth his money this year? Courtney Johns, yes, a superstar and won matches on his own. Brad Smith, one of the best ruckmen in the league.. imagine him hitting to a quality midfield, Fuller....well Fuller who? and Mal Michael......he would be lucky to...
Don't get me wrong, I hope it pays off for Heywood. I'm just wary that clubs (more than one have attempted bringing in a heap of high priced 'guns' to salvage a declining club) in the past have mortgaged their future for one so called super year, and yes Heywood may be able to sustain it past...
Having seen the troubles caused at West when they flew in 'gun' players from Adelaide, I think Heywood would be better served by 1 ex AFL player for 4 years rather than 4 for 1 year.
If they can keep all 4 for a couple or more seasons then it's a masterstroke by coach and committee.
If they...
Re: Mininera and District FL Part 2
I think everyone has shut up shop until the 23rd May when they can watch Rams and Penshurst.
I'm sure Bomber55 can't wait for it.
I think it's not quite that clear cut, taller key position type players benefit more by playing their own age group as they compete body on body with similar sizes, whereas in senior footy they tend to learn to avoid the contact because they can't compete physically, similar with the in and...
