Hmm... not sure how I feel about that. Dustin vs Chandler 2 is a great fight, but with Dustin talking about one more fight before retirement, I would like to see him have a full camp. If he's taking this on super short notice and isn't fully prepared, it could end things on a sour note for him.
I've got doubts we would take one of the KPF's at 5 or 9. It seems to me like lazy journalism, but I've come to expect that.
I'm definitely not against taking Lindsay, just surprised to see him linked at 5 as he's mostly been ranked in the teens. JT's never shy about "reaching" for a player...
We do have both McVee and Moniz-Wakefield that need to be upgraded I believe. It's still a maximum of three seasons on the rookie/cat B list, right? I could see us only end up taking 5 and 9 with maybe a pick in the rookie draft.
We're linked to reaching for pretty much every KPF according to that list. Not surprised by the main guys we are linked to but it was a bit of a surprise to see us mentioned as possibly considering Lindsay at pick 5.
My prediction of the main event wasn't quite as good though.
Agree that these guys appear to be the next level of mixed martial artist. The blueprint appears to be there to beat Khamzat after the Usman fight, but it takes a very specific skill set to get it done. I would give Israel a decent...
I've got a bad feeling Rob gets dominated on the ground by Khamzat. I agree with the consensus that if he can survive the early rounds he will take over and win, but I don't think he's faced someone with as complete a ground game as Khamzat. I hope like hell I'm wrong, but I'm seeing this one go...
Far out mate, he's not in a coma or anything. He fought a bad fight, got chinned early and never recovered. Would you have been retiring his dad after losing to Phillips back in the day too and having us miss out on a unified champion?
Porter called it on commentary early on that he was standing straight up, walking straight forward and moving straight back when trying to avoid punches. You just can't fight like that at world level! I have no doubt he'll be back, but he desperately needs to work on his defence.
Bakhram...
From a reliable source? His highlights aren't the most exciting, but he just seems to keep finding himself in the right position and using it well. He wouldn't be my first pick, but does look good.
My two choices, like most others seemingly are Smith and Draper. Both are the inside out type of...
The Hotton video that was posted in the trading thread was superb. He's surprisingly good overhead for a skinny average sized kid and has great goal sense. Based on what I've seen I'd have him as my favourite for pick 9.
Second choice of those listed is Tauru. He is fearless the way he attacks...
There were talks, but it was made clear early GWS were going to hold him to his contract. I assumed this was posturing to try and get a better pick coming in, but they held firm. I'm guessing they see a role for him next year, but I struggle to see where given their key position strength at both...
What is McCartney supposed to say? "Wade is not a required player and we can't wait for him to leave"? At least wait for trade week before we start shitting on the club for not getting a deal done.
That guy is gonna be a problem. Dominant wrestling with some really cool takedowns, brutal ground and pound and very solid stand up. Only weighed 174 after the fight, so a career at 155 could even be on the cards.
Maybe we're just waiting for some actual news rather than an ex-Freo player bringing it up for the 400th time. Something from the club or his manager maybe?
For sure, I don't doubt that this will be revisited next month and in years to come. Kos will always have a pull to family, so unless something drastic changes on that front I expect him to move to either WA or SA at some stage. Happy to discuss it when news breaks, but the bump was pretty...
Wanting a player from an opposition side is absolutely fine. Bringing back a thread that had been dead for three weeks after it became apparent a move this year was extremely unlikely with a pleading post and a Dr Evil gif beckoning for a hug though.... that's maybe a bit cringe. Personally, I...
The Dogs traded this years first rounder last year, I think to Gold Coast to get Sanders. They'll only have the pick they bring in for Smith and next years first. I really don't see a team willing to meet Port's demands, so unless the price drops greatly or a club finds a player that wants to go...
It's normal to pay a bit of a premium when moving up, so 300 points wouldn't amount to much coming back at all I wouldn't think. I do like the idea of moving up to pick 12 if possible though.
Reading Carlton fans thoughts, Owies' defensive side of his game is what let's him down. He's quick and can find the goals though, so I wouldn't hate it if he came cheap.
From the website:
The program is targeted at Multicultural and Indigenous communities who may not have as much opportunity to be involved in football programs, or who have limited understanding of the game and how it is played.
Being of Samoan heritage, I would have though Ah-Mu would qualify...
Have to agree, Robbie was an incredible player. He did have injuries but managed to have a fantastic career anyway. Probably not someone I'd nominate in this list but to each their own.
Clarke's highlight reel looked promising... certainly not the type a team would want to lose after only two seasons. Is he just way too far down the order at the dogs?
Konstanty reminds a bit of Melksham with his sticky hands and leading patterns.
