I was bored the other day and jotted down our potential best team for 2008 and liked what I saw!!! But the concern was the ageing of Rocca, Wakelin and Presti etc... I looked over to the list of players not in the best 22 of 2008 and noticed a distinct lack of young midfield prospects. The...
Did you appeal the fine though???
I'm not hopeful of getting the fine withdrawn but I'll still try, for every story of "Tough luck, you'll have to pay" there is one that says "Just send them a letter, it worked for me".
The public transport system is constantly letting me down. Trains run late without explanation or even worse run early, trains are cancelled without explanation, trams and buses seem to arrive and depart when they feel like it without any hint of timetabled performance. In the past I have gone...

I believe #20 was the second best selling jumper behind Daisy's, is everyone going to get a new number of wait to see who replaces him?
eg. I had Sav's #36 and kept it waiting in hope and then adopted Swanny as soon as he got it, kind of made his season all the more satisfying!!!
Thoughts???

Paul Medhurst
Personal
Height: 178cm
Weight: 86kg
Recruited From: Claremont (WA)
Debut: AFL 2002
Date of Birth: 11 December 1981
Player honours: leading goalkicker 2003, 2004. NAB AFL Rising Star...
Not too disheartened cos I just remember Medhurst actually being stronger in a one on one marking contest than Jimmy C and outwrestling and outmarking him. Stuck in the mind cos it doesn't often happen.
One question: Is this a player that we would be able to isolate inside the forward 50 and...
Whether Collingwood officials are still interested is in doubt, but I believe most Collingwood, and perhaps West Coast supporters would see this trade as mutually beneficial.
Seemingly the forgotten man this week until last night.
St.Kilda is supposedly favourite according to SEN and the papers BUT, why hasn't he been mentioned as a possible sweetner to a Tarrant deal???
Trade West Coast's pick 16 and Gardiner for Tarrant...
This could be the deal that sees...
Can someone actually post who is being picked by each club from the start? Rather than commenting on random picks. I'm relying on this to see who gets drafted.
Heard that he's coming to Collingwood. We're going to offer something substantially less than Carlton wants. Offer Lappin his 3 year deal. Wait for Carlton to trade for cheap or for Lappin to quit Carlton. Take him in the PSD where we have the first pick after the Blues.
Have heard that Collingwood is after him. I am not keen on this idea. The theory is that Collingwood will offer something substantially lower than what Carlton wants for him. Collingwood will also offer him a three year contract. In the end either Carlton trades him for cheap or he quits...
Facts: He will get suspended. He shouldn't get suspended. A lot of people will be angry if he's not suspended. We should have the best players playing on Grand FInal day. His hit was worse the Gehrig on Cloke. Was worse than Didak on Wakelin. Acting or no acting, stomach or chest, pulled...
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing us do what Hawthorn did last year and be in lots of trades that get us lots of first round picks. Something like a second round pick and a player ranked 11-22 on our list traded for a first round pick.
From what I understand it will involve something that essendon sees as being around the value of a second round draft pick. You're looking at Cole etc. Talk of Walker for Winderlich with varying draft picks to even it up.
Apparently we are after him cos he has pace and semi decent skills...
If anyone gets Winderlich from Essendon at the end of this year it will be the Pies. Our scouts have been watching him all year. Not so sure if he will leave, just that we are the most interested club by a mile...
Just wondering if anyone knows exactly who is on our board or who was on our board in 2005. Any links to a page confirming these details would be great. I'm looking for something from the top (Eddie McGuire and Greg Swann) down to the bottom. I'm running some background research into each and...
Good call, 40 odd possies without Buckley against an in form Josh Francou. Best and most important performance by a Collingwood player in the last 5 years.
I think you might be talking about the Fremantle/Bob Rose game where Buckley tackled Matthew Carr front on and absolutely creamed him. That was my memory of his best tackle in 2003.
These are Morrison's stats. I am pretty happy we got him.
Some other stats from this year:
Chad Morrison Kicks: 199
Other:
Paul WIlliams:206
Michael Wilson:203
Chris Johnson:202
Brodie Holland:198
Chad Morrison Possesions: 317
Other:
Buckley:319
Josh Carr:310
Scott Burns:308...
Don't be too harsh on Dane Swan just yet. In the first Carlton game (which I thought was our most disgusting and pathetic effort of the year) I remember Swanny being the only one willing to put pressure on the player with the ball. There was one stage where a Carlton player had the ball with...
Morrison should NOT be playing AFL football as he is basically just a big body with limited brains and ability (at AFL standard). While he might make a good third or fourth forward he should under no circumstances be a key target.
I will say Ben Johnson from Collingwood with Josh Fraser as a roughie if he plays ruck for most of the year. (Fraser did get 3 brownlow votes against each of Jeff White, Luke Darcy and Peter Everitt, so he must be doing something right.)
Both debuted at about the same time and here's how their stats read. Not a lot of difference in the average disposals considering one's a brownlow medal winner and one struggles to get a senior A.F.L game...
Some interesting comparisons I believe.
