They were responding to a situation where he was a UFA, so picks wouldn't matter. Not that I think he would have a different preference under those circumstances.
I have issues with how people are making their arguments, not that people hold a particular position. I don't think Voss is the issue but I could certainly be wrong. I think my criticism is valid and I didn't single anyone out. You may disagree. That's fine. It's a diverse forum. But it's open...
Some fairly reactionary, revisionist statements in here. Everyone has their confirmation bias, and lo and behold, they're finding evidence to support it. I get that the last few months have been bitterly disappointing, but to all of a sudden claim it's all down to coaching (or come out of the...
Well I actually enjoyed the win, so I must be in the minority. Others seem more intent on an irrelevant discussion about the match committee when we honestly have no idea about the metrics they use or the feedback they give. And truthfully, selection is much less of a factor than people here...
There is legitimate criticism of the team, then there is this. The occasional deprecating remark is fine, but when you're constantly negative about your own team, why bother? I contribute essentially nothing to this board, but I'd suggest it's still more than these efforts.
I would think we wouldn't play all these talls at the same time. 3 talls in the back, a ruckman and three talls forward (one being a resting ruckman). That leaves two not playing, or potentially one on the bench.
A game of football is played with 22 players, yes, but a season is played with...
I agree. I think our tall timber stocks are underrated. And as you said, added depth in the midfield could never hurt.
... wouldn't mind Roughead though :thumbsu:
While Walls coached SOS in his early career he often played forward. He was playing FF when he made his Mark of the Year in '88. It wasn't until a while into Parkin's second stint when Steve cemented his spot at FB - so some time after 1991. Even then, he still played forward when needed...
First thread, so go easy :o
Considering the extra salary cap freedom Carlton will have at the end of 2010, are there any players we may target for a trade? I'm not concerned with who we will offer in return (too early for that) just who we may want.
I know it's a long way off - and this...
Henderson played CHB out of necessity, or because there was no room for him up forward. I don't see how this makes the position more suited to him. He is a CHF that was played out of position.
My second paragraph was not directly responding to your post - just my opinion on the two players.
Yes it took 15 games for Henderson to kick 3... because he played down back. Henderson has played most of his AFL career at CHB, but most of his football has been at CHF - a position he has stated as his preferred.
It is complete speculation as to which will be the better forward. However...
Sticks said Carlton will be footing some of the bill, but would not elaborate.

I don't rate any of their pickups (bar Fevola, obviously). Clarke reeks especially... I winced every time the ball went near him in the GF. In the short term I believe they will do very well, but they don't have the personnel to make a proper premiership tilt. In 3-4 years post Black and Power...
