Kennedy is far below the standards of all those mentioned, it’s why he’s been delisted and is facing heading to his 3rd club and whilst the others are on big contracts.

Which players from last years first round or the year before, had a massive positive effect in their first season?

Now if you find a few, look where they were drafted and are they comparable to us?

First year draftees can have a positive impact, its very very rare for one to have a massive impact, you are then assuming both have a massive impact, you actually have to get the picks right first.

I assume we will pick a KPD with one of the picks, if this is the case, I really doubt they have any impact at all.

I dont believe draftees will have much of an impact because its rare theory do and i think Voss leans heavily to players he trusts.

Which is why I have little faith we will "get games into younger players". He will go to the well he always goes to.

At the end of 2022 the same stuff was rolled out, we need to go to the draft to smooth out the cap and we will target players next year, 2023 comes around and we trade out two players, bring in Hollands and the cheap and go to the draft in the late 20’s, the same lines were rolled out, we need to hit the draft and we will target players next year and now its 2024 and we are rolling out the same lines.


We are desperate for a second key defender, last year one went as a free agent, this year Barass will go to the Hawks and Battle went to the Hawks, we weren’t linked to any, the only reason why a club desperate for another key defender wasn’t in the discussion is because we have no $$$$.

Maybe next year will be the year we have the $$$ to go after a player of need but people already are talking about the big $$$ needed to re-sign Weits and TDK.

With all theses gun players on big $$$$$ and the need to re-sign two more players on long term big $$$$ deals, why dont we have anything to show for it? It’s not like these players are young and then why are clubs who have been continually better than in the past, have $$$$ to target players in areas of need to strengthen their teams?

Im firmly of the opinion that one or two of our "stars" need to be traded away to balance things up properly.

A few clubs have spoken with Kennedy. Melb, Tigers, Saints seem to be ones. IMO he will play elswhere in 2025 but it wont be done to later in trade period once clubs know what they have

Owies let go and Sam Durdin and Orazio Fantasia remain on the list ridiculous list management.
Fantasia is contracted for 1 more year we’re just stuck with him, whom was the genius that thought he could contribute to the team.

To make things worse, when it became clear that it was a 'failed experiment', he should have been relegated to the VFL as emergency coverage, and Moir should have been tried earlier, as in the absolute opposite of what happened at the end of the season.

Fluffy says that Dan was teasing Patch (piebalds are black and white) about who was black and white first. He said he'd rather die than be such a traitor to the team that's been his home these last few years.
After that, things got confused because Patch said Fluffy saw a mouse and all hell broke loose. But Fluffy he thinks, hissed out Dan in Dark Navy or Fluffy is crazy.

That just simply can't be true though. I refuse to believe that it is.
Nobody, in their right mind, Owies included, would value him at that price range.
His manager should be stripped of his license if it is true.

He's not delisted. He is under contract. At his exit interview he expressed a desire to play more midfield minutes. The club could not guarantee that so he is free to canvass other clubs to see what they might offer. If he doesn't find the right fit, he stays.

I reckon that GCS news is the best news we could get. As I've said I'm not in the all in on Houston camp but that f**** over the Pies chase big time if he truly prefers us.

I think it all hinges on Kennedy and Carroll trades which would give us access to that extra bit of draft capital we'd need to get him without giving up our first pick.

Sort of hope it happens just so I can hang s*** on the Pies nuffs.

Makes it sound like GCS are now waiting for Houston to nominate a club and they will then deal with that club for 13. That club seriously fries my brain - why are they at all concerned with Houston.

They want to make sure it will be on traded to Port for Houston because that pick will get the Lukosius deal done.

IMO our offer for 13 is much better than Collingwood’s which assigns way too much value to Noble as a trade asset.

I think the problem may be that GC aren’t sure we’ll do the Houston deal if we do get 13 off them whereas they know the Pies will.
