I liked the Sunday at 1:10pm game a few weeks ago. That is a much better time if it has to be a Sunday game. The 2:10pm Game is historic, the AFL are trying the twilight game why not look at a Midday Game start at 12:30 or so.
After looking at how top heavy Gold Coast is and how that doesn't lead to good results wouldn't GWS be better off gettting a few more established average / good players than a handful of great players?
Get a dozen second / third tier and fringe players and build a team from that? Let the big...
I think that they may be putting on muscle at the start of the year so that they are still big at the end. The year's football has to take a lot out of the guys so having more muscle can reduce injury but also enable you to train a little lighter and conserve energy.
Being 108kg at the start...
The funny thing is the free hat enabled every Collingwood Member to get a hat and stand side by side with everyone else. It didn't matter if you bought a basic package, an MCC package or a legends package all the hats and all the members wore the same hat. This is a move away from the side by...

Re: F!@#ing Great... sex assault allegations
Why doesn't the AFL jump all over this and team up with a Charity (Just say No Campaign or something similar) to improve the education of AFL players and supporters.
Use the Media hype to get a positive message out about these types of incidents...
If the option of full allocation was to happen, How many AFL / Team members would like to go into a big pool of all supporters from all teams to see who gets to go to the Grand Final every year? What would you do if you were a supporter of a competing team and someone who just wants to go to the...
There are 60,000 full MCC members and 22,000 seats and 2,000 standing room.
They ballot 12,000 seats for the Grand final.
This means that there are 12,000 seats and standing room for 48,000 people so 1 in 4 can attend. The MCC have to play with probability if they get it wrong you have some...
What is stopping people from charging for the time they have put in to getting the ticket?
Imagine you are a full AFL member your membership is worth $500 per year. You get a Grandfinal ticket and pay $100 for the ticket.
You could potentially sell it for greater than $100 due to the...
Always played a kick behind play getting the cheap kicks and marks. Would always drop marks when the pressure was on. I have him down as one of the softest players I have seen play.
The MCG had the rights to all or at least one game on the second week of finals and the result was an interstate team could have a home final but need to play at the MCG. How is it Collingwood’s fault that the deal between the MCG and the AFL involved us playing at least 14 Home and Away games...
The guys looked tired on Saturday, not running as hard and the silky handballs etc just weren’t going to target. They have just gone through a hard training period to get them right for the finals, nothing to worry about as we weren’t ourselves and haven’t been for at least 2 weeks.
There was...
The MCC has 100k members for what 24k seats. At anytime the full 100k members could turn up at the game therefore they are running a probability calculation to work out the number of members that will turn up. The final between Collingwood and Geelong resulted in a lock out of members they don’t...
Ablett has two payments one is his job with Frank Costa's and the other is his payments from Cotton On.
If the deal is done to hide payments that the club cannot make inside the salary cup they should not be allowed but if the payment is made due to the players ability irrelavent of the club...
Cloke has two issues that are being discussed in this thread as individual topics but are actually combined.
Firstly he does not watch the ball onto his foot he watches the goals. The goals aren’t going to move the ball is and that is why he drops it so inconsistently. This is basic football...
If Presti is playing I totally agree. But if Presti doesn't play then I can see potential in Dawes at CHB, bigger body to match the likes of J.Brown etc. It may not work out and we may need to find another option but he has the potential.
Brown is able to hold down this role, the only reason I...
I agree that we should be able to push for a premiership the biggest issue is the number of young guys that held us back this year. It was obvious that the old guys took up more slack than they should have during the year and that the young guys just ran out of legs. We will push but a lack of...
First A vent;
I am new member to this forum but have been reading it for a while; I cannot believe how some people talk about the Pies. I am a real supporter, every single player is out on the ground playing for Collingwood and I support them. I don’t criticise the players like a lot of...
The optimum age for a footballer is 26, the more people you have around 26 the better your team will perform.
Under 26 they don't have experience, dodgy umpire decisions, rough conduct from the other team or even a dodgy bounce can put you off your game.
At 26 they are stronger and less...
