Re: 1. Jay Neagle

Can't even get named in the starting Bendigo 18 at the moment with a lot of players out... signs arnt good for the Neag...

Re: 1. Jay Neagle

You know what... he would've been the type of forward that could've won us the game tonight. Why? Because he a seriously lacking an old fashioned FF leading from the square. I know the game's changed, players push up, look to run a defensive press as quick as possible etc.

But a solid i50 target that's running at the ball rather than with the flight of the ball is what was sorely missed tonight.

Another big bloke not tackling?

I guess Ryder and Hille aren't to blame, but rather the structure up forward. But Neagle would've been just as effective as Ryder. That's how poor Ryder has been.

No surprises that our forwardline structured has crumbled since Hurley went down back. Playing him out of the square is our best option. Hopefully McCartney is reading this.

Disagree but there you go. Shocker this weekend, before that he'd been OK, before Belly came into the side he was very good.
Despite that, doubt Neagle has touched it 30 times in a season before, Ryder did that on the weekend, including his ruckwork.

Hurley massive inclusion.

Re: 1. Jay Neagle

Would've, could've, should've,...

If the three-ruck rotation is costing a Hurley a spot in the forward line, especially when Pears returns, then it must be scrapped and so far this season Tbell/Hille is our best combo. A poor game vs. Melbourne and he should've be given a 2-week sojourn at Bendigo.

HF: Jetta Hille/Tbell Reimers
F: Gus Hurley Crameri

A shame that only the bolded players have shown consistency.

Re: 1. Jay Neagle

I would drop him too... but the BYE is his saving grace. Hirdy will probably err on the side of caution and give him a 2 week break with the rest of the senior group rather than playing him through the VFL this weekend.

Hurley was very solid before being forced back. Then his form began to get patchy. IIRC, he had just the one ordinary game up forward? vs Carlton I think.

Re: 1. Jay Neagle

well we've only just started playing him where he belongs so that's not good for him

but he wouldn't've won us the much. our kicking into the 50 was awful. we could have coleman and lost.
Coleman and Lockett and lost

Re: 1. Jay Neagle

Getting back to Neagle i am not sure how you can say a bloke who gets 5 touches in the VFL could be better value than Ryder.

Forget Jay, forget what was his best as he is not even close to it. just think of him as someone who no longer on the list ;)

Re: 1. Jay Neagle

Would Sheedy take him at GWS?? Powerful, key forwards would be a priority for the young Giants squad...

Doubt they would trade for him, they could just pick him late in the draft.

I do....I kept the faith longer than some, but i was wrong - no way in the world that bloke is even trying to become an afl player anymore.
