Adam Mcphee - gun first year at Essendon resulting in All-Australian, done nothing of the sort since. ROFL @ some Bomber supporters thinking he was the next brownlow medallist and would only get better :D

Damian Cupido - need I say anymore?

Danyle Pearce - how the **** did this bloke win the rising star?

Andrew Raines - how the **** did this bloke finish second in the rising star?

Justin Sherman - as already mentioned before.

Will think of some more later...

David Teague anyone?

Had a breakout B & F year with the Blues and then just disappeared off the face of the Earth.
So he Teague had a good first year like the OP asked, but then disappeared altogether?

A two club player doesn't meet the first post.

Damian Lock - http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/players/D/Damien_Lock.html#19983

And John McCormick - http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/players/J/Jonathon_McCormick.html#20033

I don't even remember Lock and McCormick playing so many games in their first year before disappearing off the face of the earth.

Was just BOG in the showdown. He lost a bit of form, but he's hardly disappeared off the face of the Earth.

Yep.

Wow. Lots of people who've never watched footy before in this thread.

Heatley did have an outstanding 1997 but had done ok in small number of games with West Coast (took a heap of marks on Sos in 1 game) and was ok in patches in 98. Saved his best for my mob annoyingly.

Justin Murphy was a decent player at Carlton first time round and did some ok things during his other tenures.

If Jason Cloke was up for 2 grand final berths (if it wasn't for suspension) he hardly qualifies here.

Agree that Kerr should've got the 2001 rising star and even allowing for injuries has proven a much better player than Kozi.

Cuthbertson and Brad Pearce are very good examples.

David Teague was a very solid player at North in 2001-2 and had good year at Carlton in 2004, should not be included here.

Dannyle Pearce is a little gun, stupid suggestion. If people think he's already done I'm happy to find him a home at Arden Street.

Think they were the 2nd and 1st fastest to kick 50 goals, 10 and 9 games.

McAdam had 23 after 3 games including a bag of 10.

Was Adrian McAdams 1st game Vs Richmond on a Friday night at the G in 93?

He kicked like 7.5 or something didnt he??

I reckon I went to that game.... :thumbsu: The one where Longmire took a hanger in the goalsquare and smashed into the goalpost

Sounds like Scott Cummings too

To be fair to Cummings after his Coleman year in 99 he was on fire in 2000 early.

IIRC he kicked 10 Vs Freo and 14 Vs Adelaide but then started getting niggly injuries.

He was a fair few goals in front of Lloyd when he was injured. Would have given the Coleman another good push if not for injuries in 2000

The guy who kicked a bag for Richmond and then did nothing since? Well maybe that was more a one game wonder but I forget his name

matty richardson.....:p steven jurica aka the next royce hart

Danny Del Ray - footscray (kicked a few bags and ended up in the VFL/A)

Nick Daffy - had a few good season got a fat contract and did f*ck all after that

Nick Holland - as above

James Cook - 2 marks of the years in one game ( night game against nth from memory)
