Expectations seem to be high.

99% of us wanted north to draft him.

Like sheez he’s a fantastic runner, maybe even better when factoring pace and endurance. Clarko has the template from last year.

Does he have a better first up season than the sheez in 23?
Sheeze had one of the greatest debut seasons of anyone ever.

He's a gun looking player but its alot to expect.

Everyone was spoilt with Diacos first season, people thought we wouldn’t see another season like from a debutant in a long time, the very next year we had Sheezel, statistically outperformed him and you have to go back to Greg Williams to compare, absolutely ridiculous..

Long story short people are setting standards way way to high, let the kid play, if he even gets anywhere close to the above two, we’ll be gunning for top four next year.

The other side of the Daicos/Sheezel argument that they are both top 0.001% debut seasons that are unlikely to be topped, is that to Collingwood's credit they developed a role for Daicos that allowed both seasons to happen.

It won't take long for another debut year to be on a similar level. If it's not McKercher this year, then it could be O'Sullivan the year after.

Sheezel had an all time best debut year. Must have been a number of factors in this - great start which gave him lots of confidence. Good size / strong body. Great endurance. Team make up at the time.

Maybe playing big bodies will wear him down?
Probably guys like Griff telling him before rd 1"run past and I'll give it to you every time".....and then he executed and hit targets, probably helped build confidence in himself and from his team mates to get it in his hands. Hard to see Colby bettering Sheezels year, and I just hope people on here don't go into meltdown if he doesn't quite meet what are potentially "over lofty" expectations of him. I hope he can just come in and play his role and slip under the radar a bit, spotlight and expectations are probably more on Wardlaw and how Sheez backs up, but I do think Colby will play some blinders for us in 24.

It's hard to believe that Sheez is actually underrated by the competition and probably some of our fans.

Kid had one of the all time great seasons and it just happened to be his first - IMO he will probably be our next captain.

He achieved it via having a rare combination of elite running capacity, brilliant decision making and game sense as well as elite skills on both sides.

We shouldn't be comparing anyone to him - if any of our first year guys achieve half of what Sheez achieved we should be pretty chuffed.

When you look at his stats from last season they are mind boggling but he made is look easy.

Can’t wait to see this guy working with LDU , warlord, sheez , TT around stoppages and also helping out Scott , Stephens , fisher with creating run through the middle.
Should be favourite for rising star
This sounds highly illegal. AFL wont let us play these guys together as starting 22.

Injury permitting, you can pencil Colby in for 23 games.
From the one training/match sim I attended just before Xmas, he was electric!
He had everything - speed, smarts, skills.
If him & Sheez play half back as suggested (& as they lined up in match sim) then we are going to have a couple of serious guns distributing from the back half, albeit in their first & second seasons.
Only Wardlaw or injury can stop Colby winning the rising star this year!
