Going to have to disagree. LMac has definitely gotten himself into quandaries due to his inability to use his right. And I've seen Fisher do it at Carlton too
If Luke ever happened to kick on his right he'd probably discover that was his preferred foot all along.

I didn't go on Friday but I've been to several other sessions and from my point of view and what I've witnessed at training, he's the most talented young North Melbourne footballer I've ever seen. Bar none. Does that balance out the underwhelming comments?
More talented than ‘23 Sheez? 😳

Jy Simpkin is impressed when someone hits a target by foot and doesn’t handball to team mates feet. His bar is pretty low. Jy haha 🤦‍♂️
And your parameters are either he's the greatest of all time, or a bust, and we should know less than a single pre season in?

Thats not what I said.
You asked if he was a bust and then dismissed anything positive said so far. So, thats getting to be either instant legend or bust. After less than one pre season.

Again, not what I said. Pick 2 should end up being a ripping A grade player. Also should be a walk up start in our team. But recent reports suggest that he’s been bog every session so its all good and Jy is wow’d by him 😂

Early indicators are that he'll tick both those boxes quite comfortably.

I was there yesterday and he was in the top 5 players on the ground for the half he played.

In earlier news our captain used the words “holy crap” to describe his preseason.

So, what the * are you talking about?

He's obviously still offended that we didn't get the "generational talent" of Harley Reid.

😂 I was asking a question. I was asking how he’s been going and is he playing round 1? Or is he pick 2 bust? Then based on comments from people who are watching the sims, it reads underwhelming. JFC

You don't listen too or trust anyone elses opinion anyway.

Get your arse out there and have a look and then you can gives us all your expert opinion.

FWIW, Luke does use his right and he can still kick it far enough. I just think it's all mental for him that he doesn't use it often enough.

But anyway, it will feel weird watching a number 10 burst away from the pack rather than be the one feeding the offensive types after a fend off.

This is a pretty dumb comment, no offence intended. We have seen when not battling continuous concussion and injury that Jy is still amongst our best players. I have a feeling he will be right up there with Sheeze, Wardlaw, Larkey and LDU.

McKercher replacing Hall/JZ does sound like a huge upgrade.

Hall at times was an amazing kick, but it was at times. JZ had a nice calm long kick but I felt his shortcomings were on display when hitting short targets.

McKercher can hit targets consistently and has the agility to break the lines as well. Whether the target is long, short, sideways, give and go, he will create an opportunity.

Flexibility. Can hit targets, can break lines. Kid is lightning fast.

Not to mention how tired his shoulders are from carrying the team for a few years there around 2019-2020.

People forget he was getting tagged every week at one stage.
