Don’t disagree, Maher isn’t a bad media performer at all but Murphy drags them both down. Pair Maher with someone who won’t let him waffle on and he does a good job.

yeah its been a pleasant suprise to listen to them break the shackles of the AFL domain,theyre political view pushing aside,

Yes, I don't mind Andy....he's a bit of an old woman but means well and as you say, he has a broad knowledge of sports. I agree that pairing him with the right person will make all the difference.

Murphy is full of his own importance, which he isn't, and thinks he is a super cool laid back dude, which he isn't.......Not suited to radio at all.

bedford ... Being one, I'll say there is nothing wrong with it......but some do love to be old and dither around. My mum is 89 in 3wks time, is very alert, loves watching footy, races etc, reads the paper every day and has a happy cheerful outlook. She's in aged care purely because she has trouble with her legs and couldn't look after herself properly. She runs the place haha, some of the other residents much younger act like they're 100!

I have the same outlook as mum, it's how I was brought up

Apart from the fact both of them said they didnt actually hear what was said and were going off reports.. would have thought its pretty important to know what was said before preaching to everyone

made the 8 in my first year with a young and inexperienced line up,fantastic effort from the team....looked green at times especially early in the season
but overcame early first year nerves to settle and demonstrate consistent form
wont be figuring in any GF anytime soon going by those numbers

To be fair, SEN are in the entertainment business. I don’t care what colour, race or sex its broadcasters are as long as they’re entertaining and good at their job and they’re struggling at that right now.

In fairness, it is not a news/current affairs station or music station where any person of gender, age, race etc. could host. It's a sport station of which the foundations have been built on AFL and, by extension, the AFL media and ex-AFL players. Therefore, it's completely understandable that white males make up the entire host group given this is the overwhelming majority of those in the AFL system.

SEN do a pretty good job covering women's sport, in fact they are often criticised by fans for too much AFLW coverage. Whilst they don't have any Female or Indigenous hosts, Daisy Pearce does a show (on the weekends I believe?) and is regularly used as a guest, and up until his recent alleged indiscretions Gil McAdam would also feature on Arvos or Drive. Add to this, they often interview female sportswomen with regards to AFLW, Cricket, Netball et al.

Hutchy has slashed the budget on guests, so it's been trimmed back to the bare minimum for basically AFL and Cricket and that's it.

Edit: Not to say more diversity wouldn't be a welcome change - just a thought on why it is as it currently is

All of the sports and entertainment here and worldwide , that we consume do have Women , Indigenous, Black , Asian , GLBTI as participants, but none of them are represented as hosts of any shows at Sen only rich privileged middle aged white males lecturing listeners to be inclusive.
