I edited out all the non-content stuff from the first hour of 3aw's Sportsday tonight, and it was exactly 34 mins, which is pretty sh1t, and that includes a few minutes with some guy from Ladbrokes talking about all the betting on the Grand Final. Hutchy has fakked that show.
Back in the old days, I used to really look forward to listening to it while I walked my dog, but now it's sometimes a bit of a chore to get through. No one's forcing me to listen to it, I suppose.
When Hookesy died, I kept a couple of recordings of his last week, so I might check out the content of one of those. I listened to about half-an-hour of one old shows the other day, and there wasn't any live mentions of sponsors outside of the ads

Agreed. It’s sad what’s happened to Sports Today. Would never miss it when it was Gerard and Hookesy, but the ads, plugs and sponsor mentions now are beyond ridiculous. It’s not even subtle anymore.
We then get it awkwardly and abruptly cut off at 7pm and some crappy money show afterwards.
It's a 3AW decision to only air the 1st hour of the program

, they obviously left the 11am news in the play to air cart lol , seeing as the parade started at 12pm and was finished by 12:50pm

Yep, it does my head in. Dwayne has gradually become insufferable in recent years. It seems as though starts everything he says by mentioning a sponsor, and he says it so slowly that it's much more annoying than if anyone else does it. Kevin Bartlett popped up on 3AW's pre-game coverage today.
At the end he was asked about his future in radio. He mentioned that he is subject to a "no compete clause" until November 2, but he did sound quite keen to continue in some capacity.
He had Caro in stitches - they could always do a podcast together. Would probably get more listeners than MSR.
