I'd happy listen to more of Cooney, Ollie, Morris if he doesn't go to 3aw and De Stoop. Get rid of Gaze. Watson on way out anyway, probably Gary not long after. Whateley let him go. Keep Maher as hell will do anything. Bring back Finey.

Sports Entertainment Group Limited (SEG) is pleased to announce its wholly owned subsidiary Sports Entertainment Network NZ Limited (SEN NZ) has entered a non-binding agreement with TAB New Zealand (TAB NZ) to acquire SEN NZ’s digital and audio businesses (SENZ Digital & Audio) including the SENZ brand, app and website, and its network of 28 radio stations across 29 frequencies.

The multi-faceted deal will see SEG receive NZ$4 million cash. The transaction is also paired with a content supply partnership. SEG’s Australian business, SEN, will make all SEN programming available on SENZ frequencies. SEN NZ will remain the commercial arm for SENZ Digital & Audio, sourcing third-party advertising revenue for the business under new ownership. SEG will earn commission income on advertising revenue it sources.




SEG has also bolstered its strong relationship with TAB NZ’s partner Entain New Zealand, and recently agreed to extend its commercial partnership with Entain’s Australian brands for a three-year term.

SEG Chairman Craig Coleman said the transaction has strengthened its relationship with a number of key stakeholders and maintained an ongoing involvement with New Zealand sports and racing fans.

“We are delighted to have helped shape a business with the New Zealand sports fan at its centre. The transitioning to the new ownership structure and supporting commercial agreement enables the SENZ Digital & Audio to become part of a broader, integrated and improved sports and wagering offering.”

“Importantly, this transaction removes start-up losses from our operating performance. In FY23, our New Zealand business represented a negative $2.4 million drag on underlying EBITDA. SEG continues to focus on reducing net debt in FY24. This transaction aligns with this objective in addition to several other proposals and initiatives under consideration.”

The transaction is subject to satisfactory completion of legal agreements with operational handover expected to commence on February 1, 2024.
 
On face value, I think that's a sensible move. The proceeds will be used to reduce their leverage and plug a further drain on the company's cashflow. The price they got seems pretty reasonable compared with what they paid for it, but there were a couple of years of losses that need to be factored into the overall picture.

When you build up someone and constantly pump up their tyres as much as what has happened with Gerard “the voice” etc etc etc you are left with an over inflated ego that wants to shove his opinions down your throat.

He has constantly been a mouth piece for Geelong in the media, whether it’s tribunal cases trying to get them off, the cats draw, or even worse when the cats are trying to poach a player from another club.

The weekly fawning over Danger is also very embarrassing.

ive noticed the current and increasing number of geelong supporting media/players/mouth pieces in positions of so called influence in the indigenous game for more than just a few years now. Dangerfield is a flog n wouldnt rate in my best 25 players of the past 20 years

I don't know if I would say that about him as a player, but I have no interest in seeing him in the media once he retires, which seems an absolute certainty.

That awards night he hosted was quite cringe. I don't need any more of that.

I think Hutchy hasn’t read the audience too well. He has Kane Cornes as one of his key pillars of programming and most listeners can’t stand him. I think Andy Maher is close to the same category too.
