He explained the situation on his podcast a few months ago. He didn’t seem overly stressed. Said a lot of costs that set up the new studios all over aus and nz had been completed etc.

Maybe Whateley doesn’t need to be flown out to America to cover the Super Bowl.

I could take or leave Smith. But my favourite moment of his was one time caller was about to give him a bake on a footy topic and gave him the old "How many games have you played?" line.

Can't expect the CEO to be talking down the outlook. And there's strict rules about making disclosures.

Keep returning to the fact that their advertising revenue fell in the year. No-one here would say that their volume of ads has dropped, so it's the average rates that they're getting which is in decline

Lower ratings means lower rates and lower quality advertisers? Just imagine if some government is brave enough to curtail gambling advertising further.

When you have multiple businesses under the one arm and which are based around Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere, you can't rely on zoom calls and the like - Anyway, most of these business expenses would be written off as tax expenses.

Lol so I just had a look at Sen’s finanicials after the comment on ratings and revenue - I give them 24 months.

Profit and loss which was propped up by $3.2m of job keeper showing a $3m profit. So basically net loss when you remove job keeper.

Why they received jobbkeeper absolutely no idea when they grew their revenue.. anyway

Current assets significantly lower than their current liabilities - growing their current liabilities by $8m YOY.

Cash flows nice little operating cash surplus of $6m but they received $3.8m
Of job keeper cash in year lol. And their total cash decreased by over $2m since last year. Without job seeker that’s 5.8m loss in a head..
Yeah they are growing their revenue but their expenses are growing even faster. There going to be a big impairment on their intangibles this Fy.

24 months is all I give it. You cannot survive of a 2 share I don’t care how “downloadable” your product is

All gloating a side; I admire Craig’s endeavour but at the end of the day if you’re going to grow your business through debt like Murdoch did with Newscorp - you got have a really high cash generating business unit somewhere - SEN cannot generate enough revenue when the station is running at a 2 share it just cannot.

I don't dislike Scoob but the sen breakfast summer team of him and Sam I just can't do it. It's not the worst but I'd just rather listen to nothing. No real chemistry and the tone of voices bores me to death. I'm sure we can't all forget the riveting banter of last years Xmas beef cuts Scoob never gave Sam, only to burn his on the big day. Only talked about it everyday for 3 months

I hope they can pull through because it creates great content most of the time and should exist in a sports mad country. As polarising as Hutchy is I give him props for having a crack, even if some of his acquisitions made no sense eg netball team. If I was advising him I would get rid of NSW & QLD stations and throw tonnes of cash at Mark Fine - it desperately needs content after drive time. It’s incredibly boring outside of footy season.

He was appointment listening especially post-game when your team won or when the team you hate e.g. Carlton lost. So entertaining, great grasp of footy history and was a total loose unit.
