Re: #12: Stewart Crameri - Knock to the knee and shin, should be OK for West Coast (Hird)

I agree, and how did SJ play the GF?

It's more reading between the lines when listening to Hamilton. He won't play.
Very true, but you have to remember that they probably gave Stevie J enough injections to numb his knee for the next 200 years, AND that he wasnt required to be mobile for any time soon after the match.
But you are right in what you say.

I really do hope Stu is fit to play but in the event he doesnt im pretty confident Paddy will step up to the task. He is that sort of player - when everything has gone to shit, he shines. Im not saying he will boot a bag of goals, he might not even score any, but he will give us target.

Hard to believe we are favourites, with crameri and hurley in doubt. If they both miss surely we are massive underdogs. Id even concede we would be unlikely to win.

0% chance he will play. Again the club can't be honest.. he is gone for at least 2-3 weeks according to reliable source.

Hurley is only 20% chance to play according to same source (considering he was going to miss a week at best..)

Note to self.. cross this man off the reliable source list.

Crameri did look a little proppy at times but I guess they figured we needed him too much structurally.. and in the end he was fantastic..

Now for Hurley..

I wish he didn't get the yips from 30 out, none the less at least he's getting plenty of the pill

Love this man. Wasn't 100% last night but still did fantastically well. Should kick 50+.

And now his mate Hurles should be back - take an awful lot of pressure off him.

just knocks up getting an insane number of shots on goal, an absolutely incredible story.

Some of his goals are Franklin-esque in the way he gets into those positions at ground level.

He also seems to be in the right place at the right time. Can't buy that, that's just an innate ability as a forward.

just imagine he becomes more consistent in his kicking.. could be anything..

Waiting for him to start running out to the left 'Buddy sytle'... when he misses he hooks to the right and it seems natural for him to run out like that...

With his pace I don't know why we don't try to get him on the lead more often, to many times he's backing back into a pack.

This. Need to pinpoint targets and not just rely on his pace- Defenders are starting to scrap and hang onto him in contests.

Another 3 goals, places him equal 2nd in the Coleman.

Would be clear first if he could kick straight, then again, if Buddy could kick...

Didn't look injured - Got to love his performance against a quality opponent in Glass.

Pertinent point. Lost amongst the hoopla of our win. Smashed Glass who is a quality defender.

I knew all of it already, but watching Crameri's segment on the latest Hangar episode made me have a lot more admiration for him (if that was even possible).

His whole journey to our club is a text-book "rags to riches" story. Riding his bike to and from, living in hostels, lack of money, never giving up, burning through a rookie upgrade, ect;

What's even more incredible is that he doesn't take his success for granted. He's humble, happy to do his job. Just going about it as if he's been doing it for years.

It's the complete opposite of the arrogance that is Jack Watts. Private schoolboy taken at #1 and spoon-fed all his life. Happy to live in the spotlight and soak it up, and doesn't even give a damn about his club. Could say the same about many other players in the league.

Crameri's character and mindset is something that would make the world a better place if everyone was the same. I have unprecedented respect for him, and probably more for him than any other player on our list apart from Fletcher.

Good call - On the Hangar piece, I loved the remark about the ' Crameri ' stock feed too...

Yup, liked the Crameri piece too. Had this overwhelming sense that the guy can legitimately go down as a significant (read, premiership player) contributor to the club. Not exactly a font of wisdom an intelligent, but a good, honest bloke.

That's just how he seems, anyway.

I thought he seemed really switched on. Knows himself pretty well and is taking things in their stride.

Just so you know lads, Richmond aren't worried about him, they've got Matt Dea or Jake Batchelor to take care of him.

Who are going to get ragdolled.

Geez I love the fact we have an enforcer (in the new sense of the game).

someone who can simply use his strength to tell his opponent to bugger off. This is why he is so dangerous as the quicker taller types can't compete for strength, but the stronger ones get burnt off.

I thought he would have 2nd year blues. If anything he has had the opposite becoming an even better player. he has carried the fwd line in hurley's absence with aplomb.
