Re: #12: Stewart Crameri - 4th in the Coleman | HUN/"Ralphy" puff piece'd

I always thought he was 190, if he's 186 and 90kg then I am a hope for an AFL birth!
Bendigo Gold, here I come!

Lol what? 196cm? He's 186cm according to the Essendon website and 95kg... How can you get something like that so wrong? Good ol' Ralphy :eek:

Makes the sorry better.

Think he could be 190cm and 96kgs (re Footy Wire) so an easy swap.

No way in hell he's 196cm. Paddy's 196cm FFS!

The thing i love about Crameri is he just looks so relaxed. Even when hes steamrolling through opposition defences he looks like its no big fuss - and it probably isnt for him as he does it all the time....Is out best forward for sure at the moment - better than Hurley.

Pretty much no celebration when he kicks a goal, which I love to see.

You look back at Essendon in '00, and there's a minimum of fuss when they kick a goal. It's business-like.

Crameri is a gun. Our best forward for sure, I think in a few weeks pressure is going to ease off Hurley as the best defenders all go to Crameri. He's probably 3rd in our b&f right now behind Watson/Stanton (not far behind either). I loved the goal he got today where he was about 60-70 out, got the ball and there was no one in front so he just gallops into the open space, runs all the way in and kicks the easy goal. I mean its one thing when a guy like Davey does it, but this is from a guy that demands a KP defender to stop him overhead.

Had a few bad weeks with his goal kicking but has really tightened up since then and what helps him is that he seems to get a disproportionate amount of shots from within 20 metres. Seriously I don't know another player that manages to always get the ball so close to goal.

Still can't believe we risked him by playing him in that last quarter. Why not take both he and Dyson off at 3 Q/T with the game sewn up?

Might not have been that big an issue since he dashed into the goal square. Hope he gets rested this week.

i've been meaning to say this for about 15 months, so it's probably been said, but i think the strangest thing about the whole 'Stewart Crameri - the player no-one wanted!" story is that it's not like Ben Howlett, who maybe didn't have the athletic testing results to get a gig. crameri was an absolute stud when it comes to athletic testing. plenty of players have come from no-where to been taken high up in the draft based on draft camp results. it seems strange he had to wait so long to get taken. was he just never ever invited to even state screenings or something?

By his own admission he didn't take footy seriously 'til late, but you make a good point. Hell, we almost delisted him when he was in our own VFL side!

It's a strange story ...
