OK, I've removed about three pages of posts.

Please do not use this thread to speculate about Oliver's private life – medical or otherwise.

Regardless of the veracity of your rumour, or what you know/have heard, if it's not public knowledge, just don't post it.

I don't want to turn this place into Demonland, but if you can't see the potential harm that this sort of rumour-spreading can cause (regardless of your intentions), then perhaps it's best if you take a bit of a break.

Thanks.

I get he had his poor moments but if this was what a 'bad' game is for him... (he also had 770 or so metres gained)

Dumbest stat in footy. Got so many metres gained because he bombed it 50m without looking every single time he got it. Was a ****ing shocking game. Had absolutely no impact positively on us as a team

The weird bit isn't even that he's not looking, it's him bursting away from the opponent, getting clear, and then still chucking the ball onto his boot like he was being tackled.

3rd worst disposal efficiency in the side is a far better stat.

11 inside 50's , think 10 of them went directly to the opposition.
Used to be a page on the AFL website where you could click on a player and watch every kick he had. They got rid of it for some reason but I wish they still had it so I could post how ****ing shit he was.

Amazingly shit game. 35/37 touches were shit house. So many fumbles in stoppages too. The worst game I've seen from him in a long time, even with time to kick he'd blast it to nobody.
Not alone there but as a star of the side needs to do a lot ****ing better.

As a bloke who's on close to a million and is gonna stop us getting access to other quality mids due to his contract as well. that was the equivalent of a key forward kick 0.7 and 2 on the full.

You know how I know it's shit. Dansters on the Oliver vs Cripps thread talking up how good a game it was. If that guy thinks it was good it's nailed on confirmation as one of the worst ever

Unfortunately Oliver reverted to his 2019/20 habits. He just blindly bombed the ball as soon as he got his hands on it. I'll mark this as a bad day but he was a reason why our delivery into the forward 50 was so poor.

That being said, it's not as if our other mids were any better. Petracca was as fumbly as hell. Viney was underdone. Harmes was limited. Unfortunately Sparrow looks as if he doesn't have another level to reach.

It was just a shocking game from our midfield generally.

Auskick Clarry.

Oliver played badly. Not sure there’s any need to panic. We need him bursting out the stoppages and not hack kicking. Every team in the league would kill for him, we need to use him properly.

I get Clarry could be seen by some as poor last night. But he was the only one for most of the second half having a decent crack. Whenever he got the footy he was usually one out and either kick or get tackled. Didn’t have many midfield mates.
Nope

Only if you are 12 years old.
I don't know who I would have ahead of him since 1990 other than Gawn

Ahead of Trac, Neitz probably, Stynes and Lyon (maybe/maybe not)

Ummm... no. Aside from Gawn, Petracca and maybe Neitz I can't think of a Melbourne player of the 21st century who's even close to his level.

I apologise. Change it to if you are 15 years old and Neitz gets into the picture.

Among other candidates, I reckon the Melbourne side that won 5 Premierships in 6 years might have had a few blokes in it who could go alright.

But I suppose if you define "ever" as the period since everyone carries a mobile phone (a period over most of which Melbourne were a rank laughing stock) and you make "the conversation" a long winded one - by all means put him in the conversation.

If you were 15 you would have never seen Neitz play you idiot
