NFL LIVE is naming the top 50 Super Bowl plays of all time

Thoughts on the top 10?

My guesses in no particular order:

1. Malcom Butler INT
2. David Tyree helmet catch
3. Scott Norwood missed FG
4. The Tackle/One Yard Short
5. Santonio Holmes game winning TD catch
6. The Helicopter
7. Vinatieri vs. Rams
8. James Harrison pick 6
? what else

Surely the helmet catch is at #1, not just for the catch itself, but also for Eli somehow escaping pressure before throwing it. The added significance of ending the perfect season makes it that much better too.

If I put it in order I think I'd go something like this:

1. David Tyree Helmet Catch
2. Macolm Butler Interception
3. Scott Norwood Missed Field Goal
4. Santonio Holmes Touch Down
5. One Yard Short
6. Vinatieri vs. Rams
7. James Harrison Pick 6
8. The Helicopter

I'd move one yard short to #3. Harrison's pick 6 is underrated too.

Also, when you talk 'top plays', the implication is more great efforts that so dramatically impact the game. Norwood's miss was a pure mistake, not even really 'earned' in that moment by the Giants. Not sure it belongs.

It will be in there I guarantee you. They have the safety in SB 48 in

Tracy Porter's INT was number 40

I was surprised because it is my favourite play in history
Mine too.

Having said that it was a "close the gate" type play rather than a decisive play. Although any pick 6 from our D in a big game is worth remembering.

The onside kick might get in there but I'm not sure if top 10
The play that SB (& Sean Payton) will always be remembered for.

As a tactical call it probably should rate top 5.

The onside kick is probably underrated, so bold, changed the course of that game.
Yeah missed that

Dave Hughes was more concerned about showing me something that wasn't funny on One HD.

That was terrible. Those were truly the dark days of FTA Super Bowl coverage.

It's taken be this long to bother looking up the Broncos fb page. It's comforting to know there are a lot of Bronco fans up and about and really confident of winning. All I had read so far were Panthers fans already claiming victory Lol

My favourite SB play was the Delhomme to Muhammad 85 yard touchdown td. Similarly to Goddard's mark in GF1, it's a moment a little diluted because they lost.

The best part about that is that you can see the official move into a position to blow the play dead. A microsecond longer and the Pats are likely SB victors

I miss the days when Damian Lovelock was the special comments

Honesty it was truly bizarre

Ahhh yeah. I'd expect a fan to expect their own team to win

You know you live a sad and hate filled life when you are trolling through the internet looking for articles that are 4 years old. It must be tough being a Saints fan. You can't stay relevant as a franchise so you just keep worrying about a QB that will kick your arse for the next 10 years.

Jesus Christ! The vote is 29-3 to the Panthers so far. 90.6%. Broncos will go down as maybe the biggest underdogs ever. Definitely since the patties against the Rams.
Not since Giants 07?

FWIW it'll be closer than we think. Panthers will win, yes, but something like 28-24.
