More brilliant player management from the club, no rush just get him healthy and ready to explode before we let him loose - we need a decade out of this guy

Uh oh why has nn's name gone red? :(

Cause I bloody wrote a poem in response to a tiges poem and mine was fairly simple.....

Dusty cost a bit

But the tigers are still shit.

And seriously if our mods ever become that thin skinned we best change em.

Was very close to throwing away years of work with a note to the tiger tosser mod, but in reality I like yoo's and why cut my face off to spite my hatred of ****ing Richmond?I now hope those campaigners go out in straight sets!!!!

I shouldn't have said they're shit I should of said they're a ****ing embarrassment.

There will be plenty of opportunities to point that out over the next month. Signing Martin was their GF.

People just keep your expectations level on this kid and all will be ok.

Some people might be expecting that he will be a star next year but he really hasnt played much football......and hasnt played any AFL football. Give him some time and keep your expectations level headed and all will be fine :). Most likely will start in the VFL next year (which I am sure others have said) and slowly built into playing condition so that the knee strengthens from actual games before any expectation of a AFL debut.

But who knows, he may surprise.

Fingers crossed for him as I know how shit those knee rehabs are, would love just to see him go close to playing the full year even if it's only a handful of AFL games.

Abso-****ing-lutely.

My fear is he will become a whipping boy from some posters if he doesn't have an impact by the end of the year. Patience is the key.

We're adding a top 10 draft talent to our 22 on top of what ever else we get. I'm Big Kev with this one.

Who does he play like? Bit hard with no body of work, but I never saw him as a Jr...

Cheers

He's been likened to Bernie Vince, but probably with a touch more pace. Like the Melbourne midfielder, Ahern's delivery by foot is top-notch and he can go forward to hit the scoreboard.

This isn't a draft loaded with midfielders who run quickly, ooze class and kick goals, so there are key reasons for Ahern's popularity among recruiters.

He loves having the ball in his hands and directing teammates where to lead with smart kicks. He's the one you want in possession.

Top 10 picks have failed in the past without the early knee rehabs.

Can you provide anything of substance to support this?

I assume you are referring to Morabito, but is there anything else?

I so look forward to him playing next year.
I'll try and tamper my expectations a bit.
His season will progress something like this:
He will probably play a 1/2 or 3/4 of each preseason game.
VFL start with the new Roos team for 4-5 games
Debut between rounds 6-12.
Will stay in the team for the rest of the season but be "rested" a couple of times.
If this happens next year, I'll be happy with his season.
2019 season he will have a full pre-season and be best 22.

Yep, almost exactly how I see it too.
