Since joining the Ophidian Old Boys season 34, Bonz has rarely left the spotlight. Before the teams first season began, media reports claimed he would corrupt Spotswood’s internal culture. Tabloids suggested he was enjoying the Qooty lifestyle a little too much and his hedonistic, verging on pr0n gifs and imagery was far from SFA friendly or suitable of a college based team brand.
So after 149 games (57 Wonders / 55 Dragons & 37 OOB) does Bonz really make sense as an Qooty hero? Brash, confident, willing to break rules, so aware that he’s brilliant, how does he fit within the line of SWEET FA idols such as Hate, beez, Ljp86, Mobbs, The Filth Wizard, sausageroll, Dingster and Kennedy Parker to name a few?
Bonz walks this cultural tightrope. Some have said his ego is bigger than his fur ball head and the puss has no respect for the rules and is reckless. From all reports he’s a great and supportive team-mate. It’s just that he knows he’s good. You can see it in the way he struts after a qoal, the way he demands and drinks in the applause of his fans.
But if some qooty fans do love Bonz’s confident brilliance, some of the old egalitarian spirit remains. After his poor start this season and inability to capture his All-SFA form, people were quick to bring him down. A small crack in the armour was enough. He was a waste of money whose arrogance was killing the Old Boys from the inside, a pussy that couldn't hold the Full Forward position and who will never hold a candle to likes of legendary Full Forwards such as Tarkyn_24 and okeydoke7.
Compare this to the way Americans handled Lance Armstrong. Despite glaring personality flaws – egotism, bullying, lying – he continued to be the country’s spotless sporting idol. The country believed in the power of the heroic individual. While the house of cards did eventually collapse, it was only when the US could no longer honestly avert its eyes from the truth.
The All-SFA and 2 time premiership hero is comfortable with superiority and not worried about breaking site rules or inappropriate imagery, he is someone who can have fun and be naughty – someone that should be adored by all in the SWEET FA, but we’re not there yet. Being naughty is still quickly pulled down and any infringements reported ASAP by the self imposed guardians of what is allowable in the land of SWEET.
But as a fan of posters who like to push buttons and limits, I for one want to see Bonz kick nine qoals on Sunday against the Wonders on his 150th game so he can strut as much as he wants and give it to all those righteous pr!cks that want to curb anyone having fun. Bonz has been someone I have loved playing against and now play with, after match showers have never been more fun with a wet pussy.
So to all of you who have loved the little guy, come in here and give him a pat or a tummy rub, he loves those and tell him how great he is, he loves that even more....................................
