I'm still not confident we will finish top 4, we still need a bit of improvement to get there. Don't think a domestic Cup double is out of question and maybe even a Cup treble depending on how serious we take the Europa

I think you guys are going to come home hard, it looks like your team is clicking and you have a seasoned pro holding the reigns who knows how to close out a season.
Going to be one of the more exciting finishs with 5 or 6 teams up to their necks in it.

The main challenge will be squad management when we start Europa again in mid-Feb. If we snuck into the top 4 by then, I'd be tempted to play second string teams for the tie vs St.Etienne. If we manage to sign a player or 2 in this window, that will help too.

Southampton deserving of their 1-0 lead at HT. Created far better chances than us so far, and a nice finish by Redmond who could have had another if not for Karius who has been excellent both with his shot stopping and commanding his area.

Lucas running through treacle. My grandfather post 2 hip replacements & a knee could have gotten across to cut off that through ball.
Can not much better on the mobility front tonight. Those 2 making up 2/3 of our midfield is really harming our ability to press and transition quickly.

Southampton through to the final without conceding a goal in the competition, without Van Dijk this morning too, very impressive.
Final on the weekend of the 25th/26th of Feb which means our league game against them gets moved, may have a 2 week break before our playing Liverpool on the 4th of March. Very handy with the UCL knockout games in that time.

Your players look worn out to me. Happened to us last season, all that pressing wears players out. I think we learnt from that and that's why we only do it in certain games now.
