Sunshine forfeited against hoppers
on a side note, werribee did try to field a wrfl side as their 3rds
QUOTE]
It was nothing more than a token gesture by Werribbee to make the WRFL think that they actually tried to get a team in the league. Willy will do the same thing.
The WRFL must come down hard on these rogue clubs now before they do stuff our league.
saw the altona vs vales game gotta see altona still have alot of talent if anyone nos who is number 21 for them coz he ripped it up

That's not the answer. At this point in time what doe's the WRFL have to offer, lets make no mistake the WRFL are running a business and if they keep going the way they are there will be no business to run.
These clubs that are going to other leagues do so because the other leagues have more to offer, the WRFL need to fix there league quickly before more clubs move or fold.
you would know what a token gesture is mate you make one everyday when you get up look in the mirror and tell yourself what a clever indvidual you are that is a token gesture.between 12 and 15 kids may miss a game each week at that footy club something that no one involved takes lightly kids have had to move on that have been with the club for 3 and 4 years none of that has sat well with the people involved at the club. But to come on here and blame the failings of the U18 comp on the Werribee football club is dumb surely you must be from Altona. Thats definately not a token gesture.on a side note, werribee did try to field a wrfl side as their 3rds

Finally someone offering a possible soloution instead of ban fine throw out fair call mate. The problem here fellas is not the U18's in the WRFL, it is way beyond that. This may need WRFL to take to FV to sort out. I understand that the Ammo's are pushing for their senior clubs to field U19's, otherwise they can not stay in the league. If this is the case what choice do WJ's have at the moment.
Willy Jnrs may very well move their U18's to the Ammo's, but I believe CY's already field a team there, so not a move but a merge.
Both Ammo clubs need to look after their Seniors and develope a continual flow of players for them, so you can't blame them. St Bernards have been doing this for years - Jns upto U16 in the WRFL and teh rest in the Ammo's.
The next club to move U18's would be Point Cook.
Perhaps before going to FV, WRFL may need to look at othering some of these clubs incentives to bring their senios back into WRFL. This would stop the exodous of U18's and hopefully strengthen the comp overall. JMO though.

trucka I also do not know where you are getting you info from regarding the ammos forcing clubs out if they do not put an Under 19 side on the field. If this was the case why would they allow Point Cook in this year.[/QUOTE said:I have no doubt that Point Cook will have their U18`s in the Ammos unless something happens.
I am passionate about our league (don`t shoot me for that) and I am concerned that we will become a feeder competition to the Ammos. The WRFL are also concerned and this will be raised again at CoM level by a number of concerned clubs who may just force some changes.

Jordan Lampi from point cook is the best player in the league by a mile
he'll win the league BnF
Wow i thought 4 sure he would be at Jets!!!
What happened there?
If he is 18s this year will romp in the B & F
he's a freak of nature
I think it is great you are passionate I have been involved in the WRFL for the last four years not many I know but the big issue isnt anything to do with Seniors and U19s having to play in the same comp it has been the inaction so far anyway of the WRFL on (violence inadequate suspensions and an unclear policy on Junior footy.)Now they want to act after the fact that is why they have been and will remain behind the times when it comes to Junior footy.I have no doubt that Point Cook will have their U18`s in the Ammos unless something happens.

yeh pretty accurate. i'll go hoppers by 80, altona by 100, spotty by 70, willy by 30tips for this week anyone?
mine would be
Albion vs Hoppers - hoppers by 70 really shaping to be a top side.
Altona vs Point cook - Altona by 80 i believe will be them and hoppers in gf early days though.
Spotswood vs Whyndamvale - spotty by 44 whyndamvale have been a bit underdone i heard?
Sunshine vs Willy- suprisinly i think this will be best game of the round, both very average sides going against each other bu its hard to say willy so i'll go with sunshine by 17
there are my tips, ane everyone should make some tips instead od talking about where WRFL is going make a seperate thread for that and lets talk footy.
Trucka, I think we are on the same page. I was trying to point out to others that its more than just a matter of Werribee pulling out their U18's from WRFL for the sake of it, and a simple fine etc from WRFL to sort out the problem. And true others such as Willy Jnrs and Point Cook may follow in future.
Don't get me wrong I would love to see the WRFL go from strength to strength, but I do not think the WRFL are in a position at present to dictate to clubs where they need to play their Jnrs or Snrs. I agree the WRFL should spend more time with the likes of Werribee / Werribee Centrals / Point Cook to see why their preference is to play in other leagues, whether they like the response or not, over time corrective action should see the WRFL become stronger.
On the other hand perhaps its time for WRFL to approach FV for assistance in finding some common ground with the Ammos directly so that both competitions can continue to grow together before this situation gets out of hand and beyond repair.
