So does everyone watch at home or have a good pub for the big game? We head to Pig n Whistle Riverside in Bris which decks out for SB for the day. Would like to head to Melb one year if there's a good city vibe for the day which anyone can suggest?

i remember when von miller was asked who are the best qbs hes played against...he said tom brady and patrick mahomes -- mahomes had only just played two games at the end of his rookie season, so only one game against Denver at the time.

people were like "wtf" but he really has an eye for that sort if thing, and so quickly.

i guess that also bodes well for drew lock, given von was saying in practice how lock threw the greatest incomplete pass hed ever seen.

I remember the Monday Night game against us last yr. That was the first time Mahomes went against a good top tier NFL D. He had torched LAC, PIT, and SF. But now he was going into a rivals stadium, MNF, and was facing a very good D and a hostile crowd. Denver 2-1 and always unbeatable early in the season at Mile High.

In the 4th quarter we were up 23-13 and I had a sinking feeling. That was always Elway's time. All the late 4th quarter comebacks, many of which came against KC. It was payback time now. You just knew Mahomes was going to bring them back and win that game.

Obviously people already knew he could sling it at that point based off the first 3 games. But that was the real coming out party

also remember when the manning colts went into the playoffs as one of the worst defenses and yet somehow in the playoffs they managed to thwart all the offenses that had the edge on the D based on metrics...colts won the supee bowl

It took Manning to play like junk for them to finally win the superbowl.

Made no sense.

Apparnetly its hit and or miss. and when it misses it missed wider than a Bears kicker.

p1 is the "rise" at VT and early at the Falcons. Part 2 is the fall and "redemption" at the eagles.
and would of been better to be 2 1hr parts rather than 2 100min parts.

I'd imagine more than a few 'Hurry up and get to the dogs!' as the first part was dragging on a little bit.

for all the "impossible game to pick a winner, so 50:50" ironically this could end up a slaughter, either chiefs or niners winning something like 42-7

Could easily be a blowout. What makes this game impossible to pick is that you can make a strong case for any score line any way. Which is pretty rare/awesome place to be having no real idea and just needing to wait and see what happens. I can't remember the last time the build up was like this

This game has a certain Seattle vs Denver feel about it. And we know how that ended up.

Cant see Mahomes laying an egg like Manning did tho, but that offense was all world before that SB much like the current Chiefs one.

Fun fact for those into omens:

Andy Reid currently has 221 career wins. Winning the Super Bowl would make it 222. The SB is being played on Feb 2nd (i.e 2/2)
Richie Benaud would have a field day.

SB date is also only 8 digit palindrome this century. Wow!

I agree re:Seattle/Denver... I was all in on Seattle in that game, but this year is the exact opposite...

AFC West now defeating NFC West
Great Offense smashing the great defense

Honestly not that impressed by the Niners BECAUSE I don't consider their dismantling of the Packers much of an achievement. Which brings us back to who have the Niners beaten this year?? Sants were the best team they've played... Everyone else has been average or worse...

Who have the Chiefs beat lol...? Ravens when they weren't near their peak?

9ers 5-2 vs. playoff teams
Chiefs 5-3

All the Niners loses this year have been by 1 score or less. Pretty impressive season all the same.

The different ways they can win also impressive. While the Chiefs only have one way - score more than 30 points. Houston and Tennessee defense's not exactly a litmus test for that offense so far in he playoffs. Very different kettle of fish tomorrow.

Zero chance of the Chiefs blowing out the Niners. Under Shanahan they can put up yards and points at will if they are so inclined. Chiefs defense not good enough to hold them to less than 28 points imo.
