He looks physically imposing out there. Very happy with the recruiting team to get Logue across.

Imagine if that was Josh Walker in #19 today….
Good grief.

Mark going back with the flight was elite.
Then should have had the man in front grab given but dickhead umpire called play on.
He doesn’t play and we lose. Crucial to our structure already.

Former Fremantle Docker Griffin Logue glad he didn’t burn bridges when traded to North Melbourne Kangaroos

Former Fremantle swingman Griffin Logue has revealed he went out of his way to avoid burning bridges while being traded to North Melbourne and is thankful his upcoming first game against ex-teammates won’t be filled with bitterness.

Logue signed a five-year deal to move to Arden Street at the end of last season and has immediately established himself as a key to coach Alastair Clarkson’s defence after being used as a forward for most of 2022.

Several players have been the centre of trade controversies but Logue explained he was so careful to avoid creating waves that he monitored his conversations and behaviour when cameras were following him for a trade period documentary.

“The last thing I wanted to do was cause a ruckus. It was interesting to get an insight into what goes on in the trade period in the doco. It was strange to be part of it. I never thought I’d be part of it,” he told The West Australian.

“The last thing you want to do is make any enemies. I didn’t have any need to and I don’t think it’s really necessary. It’s part of the game, trades now. It’s just how it unfolded. I’m glad it unfolded without any bridges burnt.”

Former Docker Rory Lobb was more open on the documentary when talking about the break down of his relationship with coach Justin Longmuir before moving to the Western Bulldogs.

Jason Horne-Francis and Ollie Henry both had acrimonious departures from their clubs last year.

Logue performed well in his first game for the Kangaroos and is anticipating matching up against former housemate Matt Taberner at Optus Stadium on Saturday. Logue admitted he will be nervous and doesn’t want the focus to be on him.

“There’ll be nerves but I’m also excited to see where we can take this group of players we’ve got building at Arden Street. There’s a really good feeling about the club. It’s not really about me,” he said.

“It’d be pretty funny to match up on Matty Taberner. It’ll be serious and full-on. I won’t take it for granted getting to play on my mates. There’s lifelong friendships there. It’s something I’m looking forward to. We used to live together and are fairly close.

“I’m close with a lot of the boys. Him and Lachie Schultz are the ones in the forward line who will probably pipe up. Fyfe will too which will be pretty funny.”
