Interview on the website says he sees his best footy playing as a ruck in the future? Would be a super handy second ruck for sure when Bryan is playing but surely not competing with Him for that sole ruck position

I am still alittle confused with the pick it he is a ruckman long term.
He still has forward craft. Solves the issues we have now with two rucks who are average to poor forwards going forward.
At least with this guy and Vigo if they make it they can play in two spots.

Bryan is 5 years older.. by the time Gerreyn is ready to be a solo ruck, Bryan will be nearing 30 at the earliest

Quoted in an article in the HUN this afternoon... talking about where he sees himself playing in the future. Presume it's taking from the same thing Tazdog mentioned

“Whether it’s as a ruck or maybe even a big-body midfielder or halfback or something like that, only time will tell."

Big-bodied mid, hey?

Finally we can make Cripps feel like a child in the middle.

Covers both areas

The hope would be always a guy becomes a gun forward over a gun ruck

Goldstein done. A good chance of a Draper/Bryan leaving. 2MP not delivering/gone backwards and maybe only 3 more years left. Question marks on Harrison Jones aswell

Dont think the club would be banking ine way or the other with no thought of alternative

No reason it cant be done in 2025 win a final. Or do you mean a flag?
our medicos have got injury worries under control.

Just need the players to run out the season. Maybe Brad needs to rotate the squad more.
We seemed to get a bit stale last year.
Lost Stringer, Hepp, Kelly.

likely a net positive.

everyone a year older plus we have Kako

I Imagine we get more goals from Perkins and Martin to replace Stringers goals

we're not carrying anyone with long term injuries or coming back from acl's recently
(Hunter, Davey, Baldwin all gone)

El-Hawli and Prior are like new recruits who are ready made, should be able to replace Hepp/Kellys output.
Reid likely pushes LAV out
Caddy is a year stronger
Kako is genuine small forward with pace and excitement
No Stringer = potential opportunities for Perkins/martin up forward or even Day-Wicks when injuries occur

We should be better than next year.

There is a reason though - we don't have the cattle. The team has showed it's nowhere near ready to win a final - which is fine, we just need to be patient.

We need to just accept reality and be s**t for a little while. Quick fixes don't work, as the past 20 years has shown.

Play the young blokes, be s**t, and hit the draft again next year.

Teams at the bottom half of the 8 through to about 16 should all be pretty even next year. Most teams on their day can beat most other teams, make it to finals with a healthy list and you're a chance of winning one.

Should be a very watchable season.

I'll never not watch - but I think the 'watchability' will depend on how they approach the year. If Goldy, Laverde, Wright and the like are getting games early and the same guys are stuck in the VFL, I'll be somewhat less inclined.
