Those who got through, what device are you using?

I started queuing on my PC, then my phone. My phone got through the queue first, then my session timed out while trying to get tickets, so I had to re-join the queue on the phone again. And the phone STILL got through a SECOND time before my PC got through the first time.

I'm not sure that Ticketek actually have a firm understanding of what a "queue" is...

Two tickets on my phone in 137, section N. My son gets to go after being sick two weeks ago. I will be away for the weekend so the wife is taking him. I am still on the anti jinx. We can't win it.
The jinx is real. May as well use it tactically!

Can't imagine dangerfield's face after a loss. Got a bad feeling about Friday. We are due for a bad game etc.

Thank me later everyone

Couldn't get through but mate with barcodes did, Western Stand somewhere, row FF

given i normally sit in row A upstairs, that might be a few rows further back

I got tickets easily, had the iPad and PC going at the same time, both had got through by 9:05am. Got seats in section 535. Can't understand the issue with getting tickets (apart from the price)

I unjinxed myself at the GWS game

Must say I get very uncomfortable reading page after page about how easy we'll win this. Crows don't do so well under those circumstances.

I dont think anyone is saying easy.

But the Crows should win this match.

Surely that is able to be said without causing uproar.

I'm not coming over for the game but any predictions of crowd size and how many of those will be Crows fans? Did our members get priority access over the meth addicts or was it equal access?

We stand here at the precipice of greatness once again, and all I'm hearing is the echoes of fear; we're cursed, we're screwed! How do we possibly cover Gov? Why does this always happen to us?
I sit here shaking my head.
THIS!!
There is no "Crows curse". We're not doomed.
Smith and Gov injuries are just bad luck and could happen to any player, anytime (unless Gov did it practising L-footed torps as has been suggested ;)) and this group looks like it has the depth and guts to overcome those setbacks.
Smith out? Bright side: Sloane back in.
Gov out? Bright side: gives someone a huge opportunity to define their future and help us win the PF.
As for the vehement discussions from those who are adamant about who should replace Gov, we need to keep in mind that none of us are selectors.
It's out of our hands.
The sum of all these events, including the bad luck, has created a roller-coaster. Enjoy the ride!

1. I'm in this boat with you - it's Jake Kelly for mine. This is his ideal scenario, "let me at him, I'll eat him alive" will be his response.

Kelly was born for this matchup. He's the junkyard dog, the bull. It could well be the point in his career where those on the outside start to stand up and take notice of just how fierce a competitor and just how able the young man is. It would also be the making of him and propel his game to heights he hadn't even forseen, despite his absolute confidence in his own ability.

He has the height to impact the aerial contest, he has the fight to split the ground contest. He has the heart to go with Danger ever step of the way, should the matchup eventuate.

I saw the makings of several club legends unfold in our previous premiership assaults; young men who were thrust into the limelight on the grandest of stages. Those here who are old enough to remember still enjoy those moments as much as any during those flag years, I'm sure of that.

We stand here at the precipice of greatness once again, and all I'm hearing is the echoes of fear; we're cursed, we're screwed! How do we possibly cover Gov? Why does this always happen to us?

I sit here shaking my head. I've seen far greater players go down only weeks/days before we enjoyed our ultimate success, the very players who propelled us to within reaching distance of that glory suffer the untimely agony of injury. They watched on while their teammates marched on to glory without them. Those teammates who replaced them were a great deal less distinguished, but they were committed to giving their best, and as it turned out, their best was enough.

This team is greater than either of those outfits. This team has been through more than those before it, and what this team stands for cannot be torn apart by the loss of one or two of its parts, no matter how crucial they may be. Dangerfield leaving us, only for us to become even stronger in the aftermath, should have been the most obvious example of this.

If you haven't already come to realise, there has been an unstoppable force gaining momentum before your very eyes. It started long ago but is only just starting to hit max speed... the tiny, insignificant obstacles have been brushed aside - cannoning off into the nether like bugs hitting the windscreen. The heartbreaking, extreme hurdles along the way have only hastened its trajectory.

This team will not be slowed, it will not be stopped.

2. This is what I expect, based on the match committe's track record and the injury to Smith creating further opportunities up the field.

Milera, if given the opportunity, would be told to come in and take the game on at all costs - "show us all the dare and creativity you were drafted for, show us your personality out there, light up the crowd and give us every bit of magic you've got in those legs"

As much as many may agree it's a cruel blow losing Smith, the flipside of it is we just became far less predictable with our ball movement coming out of defense. All year teams have planned for Smith, they planned for Laird too. The end result was Smith sitting 2nd in the comp for metres gained, and Laird finally being recognised as an AA.

With Laird now expecting even more attention, that creates opportunity. But who that opportunity is given to, or divided up between, is now something the opposition aren't at all ready for.

All year Pyke has been working towards having unparalleled flexibility in his structures; creating a system that prevails when even the most vital links are missing, including at short notice. Now he gets to put it to the test.

3. Agree with this completely. Although Pyke may toy with the idea long and hard, as Otten doesn't just represent a forward option but also a defensive foil who can stay out on the field all night - giving him the added flexibility of changing his structures at any point in the match, I just can't see him sacrificing our pressure locking the ball inside 50m once it hits the deck. It will be crucial to us winning this contest.

4. Although I love the idea and the romanticism of seeing Keath called upon to fill that forward spot as more of a man-marking defensive tall (it would be a Shane Ellen-like move in terms of ballsy-ness), I just don't see Pyke as being the type to take that big a risk, or risk going with an alternate structure they'd not previously worked so hard to perfect, in such an important game.

In any case, I look forward to watching the makings of more than a few champions unfold before my eyes this Friday night. If everyone watching on took this attitude into Friday night, the emotion alone would see the boys get over the line. It did 20 years ago..

First post? Really? o_O
Brilliant.

Congrats to pjcrows for creating this thread which has turned out to produce an incredibly diverse range of discussions.
Even some on-topic! :) (I know, before it's pointed out, mea maxima culpa! ;))
So diverse that the Mods seem to have put the thread in the too-hard-basket, except I see with the "attractive, insightful posters" edit, LOL.
After all, pjcrows did say "Have at it". :D
We've meandered from song chord progressions through to Shakespeare, but I nominate this as post-of-the-thread:
Keep coming with the personal insults. ... ... ...
You're all idiots.
Not sure what Mick500 was trying to achieve, but one can hardly complain about personal insults then call the whole Board "idiots".

Funny, and very entertaining. :)

Great first post, welcome aboard! Lots of big stanzas there but SA all the way, great to see.

Am finding it funny there have now been two articles on afl.com about Geelong keeping the crows guessing as to where danger will start (forward or mid).

Unlike every other year where such a thing would worry us, I reckon we couldn't care less where he starts this time around. We'll have a plan either way and back ourselves in to deal with it.
