They are old. They played a huge game a week ago. That came off a nice long rest. The chances if those 3 (in particular) being flat tonight were always high given their age and given last week.

Which of course is why Simpson rested some older players and brought in some fresh legs. Oh hang on..

Back to Status quo again

It wont be exciting, because the recruiting dept will do nothing, as per usual. Also we will have the same uninspiring set of coaches that we have this year. Also they better not recruit fasolo because we already have plenty of those useless type of players.
You do realise most of those coaches will be moved on right?

And our recruitment, whilst hard to argue hasn't been poor, may have been different if we had an uninjured Venables and Rioli

Of course it'll be exciting, don't let tonight's poor performance blind you

If Naitanui had played there would have been about a 10-15% chance that he would have somehow played a game winning blinder despite being underdone.

10% is considerably higher than what our chance of winning this one is without him.

The fact that LOBB is winning the ruck battle shows how boh standard vardy is as a tap ruckman.

Another one of these games where Simpson has coached poorly. What happened to our intensity?

Duggan has been terrible since he had his nose busted. Cripps, Hutch, Jetta pretty poor.

We did lift and steady a bit the last 10-15 minutes.

How is this confusing to people? We're playing a younger, fitter, faster, more skillful team.

We've played to our absolute best in the past few weeks. We were never going to get very far with this list.

The effort to get this far has been commendable to be fair. Obviously it'd be great to see the same intensity tonight but it seems we're spent after last week.

Duggan hasn't showed any improvement from his first game a the club. His first game was good but needed to make improvements as always but hasn't fixed any of the issues he had number 1 being kicking.

This was always the danger. Their mids are killing us. Shuey is playing a lone hand. If two more mids don't step up we will get blown out.

Absolutely. I don't understand how people have been so blinded to it.

He's performed admirably given his background, but he's mediocre
He isn't a ruckman though

He's a forward cum ruckman - like Sinclair

Need to forget the match ups in the second half and just go for it, if we get belted who cares.
Yeo in the middle with Mitchell and Shuey, get Wellingham up to a wing put Gov in the ruck. Also run Hurn through the midfield.
We got nothing to lose and in my view this will really tell us if Simpson can be imaginative and have a crack at something different.
It is insanity to stick to your guns hoping for a different outcome.
