If this guy can get back to some proper form that he’s capable of ..

Then there is even some more great upside to add to the momentum building in the team.

Saw a couple of glimpses on Sat night.
This is so true, if Clarko and co can get him back to being that damaging forward, some of our scoreboard pressure problems disappear

There were glimpses against West Coast. He built on that against Freo.

The momentum is definitely building.

He’s along way from it while he’s dropping chest marks and hand balling direct to the opposition.

I’m not going to repeat your drivel.

It’s plain for everyone to see.
Not everyone.

Can recommend using the ignore function if you find posters hard to take for whatever reason - give yourself a spell rather than getting all het up.

I hate this thread.
I’m a big believer in Stevo. He can be frustrating at times but it looks like he’s finally poised to deliver.

Don’t let one poster’s player vendetta dampen the excitement about Stevo.

I just want nice things for one single week. This board has already gone through the utter most excruciatingly painful phases of grief and we've just beat two of the WA teams in conditions that didn't favour us.

It's lunacy.

Again, show me where I’m wrong. Not one of you can.

I’ve already shown you that you were wrong about his second goal, so I guess I’ll go back to his first and look at how you described it.

Your description was - “Hard running to get out the back for a goal.”

Here’s the thing, he’s started that play just off the stoppage at half back, the ball gets kicked forward where Comben creates the turnover and not only is Stephenson the first to react, he takes off at top speed before Curtis has even picked the ball up, runs past 6 Fremantle defenders going flat knacker for 120m and blows his own man up before he receives the pass from Simpkin and goals.

The game sense required to smell that goal on half back is something you cannot even fathom, let alone the guts it takes to sprint that far and that hard just for the chance that we might be able to get it to him.

if you hadn’t realised that he doesn’t need to get it 30 times to play his role then you never will.
He averages 30-40 goals a year for the rest of his career then we’re doing alright!
Think Shannon Grant stats!

I think there is something in Mav's criticism of Sleevo but ... he does stuff like you mention. he works hard and runs his guts out when he is on. He even tried his hardest to be physical on the weekend, which some would say was most unlike him.

If we play turner then playing Sleevo won't necessarily hurt and does provide its own weird balance. He's the anti Kayne Turner. Better kick but soft as in comparison. They should complement each other if they play finals together.

Almost everyone looks soft next to Kayne Turner. He's like teak mixed with titanium, teaktanium.

Mav doesn't seem to understand that forwards don't need to get midfielder numbers to have a good game.

He spent the whole career of the best forward North Melbourne has had in my time trying to convince everyone that he was no good. Some people just need to have a whipping-boy in order to feel relevant on the forum.

Especially being in the system coaches do not look at possession numbers as a main stat when you are a forward.

You didn’t prove anything about the first goal. I said 40 meters you said 60, it was 50 mtrs.

As for the second, like I said, hard running. It’s not good game sense, its what any HF should do in that situation. It’s basic football, but you would understand that. As I posted in my analysis his opponent did the exact same thing to him but got an unlucky bounce.

My original comment was that he did 2 good things, the goals. Apart from that his game was very poor. Go back and watch the dropped mark and turn overs . I’ll give you the time stamps if you want.

While you’re at it watch the running Scott does. The amount of time he got to good positions to give an option was amazing.
