Right on cue...
I actually think that could backfire on the tiges.

Talk is Cotchin and Dusty permanent forward. Edwards retired. Replaced with individually capable mids in Taranto and Hopper for sure but I feel like changing over your midfield is like changing the lead singer in a band. Whatever they sounded like before, it's a new band now.

I think it worked with us last year because we've had the same group for so long. The cohesion is there, they know how each other plays. If the Tigers are going to have to build that chemistry then intentionally resting players could stunt the growth.

Maybe they come out and start firing from day dot and I'm wrong, but it took us a season to figure out how to use Cameron. It may take them a season to figure out a new look midfield.

Tigers are still in my top 4 though

That was an excellent interview - ive watched/listened to very little re Geelongs win - but that interview was worth listening to
Agreed.
Is it just an omission by memory that he did not include Collingwood as one of the many threats?
I've heard him many times last year praise Collingwood, and our games last year were the most memorable

Yeah I’d say so. He just rattled off a heap of teams. Didn’t seem premeditated to me at all. Even if he thought it, he’s not usually one to provide opposition clubs with ammo

I do mostly agree with your main point, the only thing I'd say is I think Cameron was carrying niggles through 2021 and was never really fit/firing on an individual level (his record was okay but he just didn't seem right). I also kind of think Cameron excelled more when he had a mobile/creative fleet beside him. 2021 we were too one dimensional with it being Cameron/Hawkins or bust, mostly.

But anyway back to the specific point I agree that it might not be as simple as plugging Hopper and Taranto in and boom all of their issues are solved. They'll need other younger guys to step up as well.

See he's coping a pasting from some quarters as a 'graceless loser' because he dared answer questions about the state of the MCG surface 🙄
From whom?

Agreed.

Just disappointing, though to be expected, that such stuff is used as click bait.
My main concern reading that is his backing of Ratugolea. We're in for a long year If he continues to play.

I haven't been a Ratugolea fan, though I wish every Geelong player well.

He did a couple of good things last night and he made some terrible ones. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt for his 'first' game, but I'm not convinced.

I don't see him getting a game if we had Henry and Kolo available.

TV News over here led with Cats coach FUMING over MCG surface…….ffs☹️

I didn't see him fuming.

He was asked leading questions which he initially tried to avoid, then diplomatically answered.

For that he's labelled a graceless loser, but tonight it's a serious concern after the Melbourne game.

Idiots.

So yesterday Scott was labelled a graceless loser for answering questions about the MCG surface, and tonight - after the Melbourne game - it's condition is mentioned on the news as a serious concern 🙄
So Scotty calls out a playing surface that you could argue directly caused two injuries to key players, while players themselves (Including Docherty from Thursday) also voiced their concerns.

- That's somehow viewed as whinging, or behaving like a sore loser.

Clarko and Dimma actively complain about umpiring, and whinge about driving 15 minutes down the road to Marvel....but that's just viewed as them being competitive warriors?

It's hilarious.

You've got it in a nutshell.

Agree Cataholic - that was my point , complete overreaction from the Media over here , trying to find controversy when none exists☹️

We're in for a long year if we are missing multiple from Kolo (who you used to say this about btw), J.Henry, Stewart and perhaps SDK at times yes. I'd be interested to see who you'd have preferred to play on Friday or this week from those available.

We were missing two key defenders from the starting side. And rata was one of our best on ground. Must of saved 5 goals in the second half.

The cherry on top with both coaches thinking he was in the top 4 players on the ground. In his first proper game (Eagles at KP doesn't count) in the role, in front of 90,000 fans in a game where our midfield was pulverised.

If he had a bad game McStay would have taken 14 marks and kicked 8 goals in such circumstances.

So you think we're GF bound again with Sav?
Is that what you mean by a long season? 26 weeks?
Sav was possibly our best player on Friday.
