Re: 20% of Richmond Members don't want to go to their matches !!!

lmao at the vermin crawling out from everywhere with such a simple minded attack ....we could be like the hawks and giving voting rights on 2 game a year Tassy tickets and count them all as one...but no we put a premium on ours and separate them as above...Hope that cleared it up partner:thumbsu:

LMAO at Richmondi mbeciles who post lies and have no clue about their own club let alone others ..
My post is based on fact...unlike your dribble which is utter rubbish

There is no 2 game Tassie mebership
We don't count non-ticketed mebers in our totals - you do
and you give voting rights to non -ticketed mebers... we don't , i suppose your pet members get a vote too ... they are more likely to have an idea about what is going on in the world than you do , so they should

So until your pathetic club and even more pathetic supporters get over the fact that you are so far behind us in membership and stop resorting to make up deperate pathetic lies to try and comfort yourselves... stop worrying about it and move on with your life ... hope that clears it up princess:thumbsu:

sorry then it must be a 3 game membership:p..WOW

Well we all know the Hawks count anyone who has ever driven through thier area.

Last Richmond spoon Home average 40,000 plus
Lasy Hawk spoon Homne averae 25,000.

Says it all.

Hawthorn most likely count the cats and dogs to there final membership results. Pfft seriously the person that started this is a dead set loser. Not everyone can make it to games you idiot.

Re: 20% of Richmond Members don't want to go to their matches !!!

Bandwagon fans are related to both when they join and when they leave. If they join during a period of success and leave as the success dries up, then they are bandwagoners.

A classic example is when you have a look at the Hawks figures between 2001-2007.

In 2002 the year after a Prelim Hawthorns membership rose just over 2000, then steadily declined each year as the Hawks missed finals. In 2004 after finishing 15th, they lost near on 2000 members, yet Richmond increased their figures by nearly 1000 after winning the spoon. 2006 another year without much success and the Hawks lost another 1000 members. 2007 and with finals on the cards their membership increased by 3000, meanwhile Richmond were headed for a 3.5 win season and set a then record total. 2008 and the Hawks were up top all year with plenty of success and they increased membership by over 10000, Richmond improve to 9th and only add an extra 750 fans.

When looking at Richmond over the same period, its true our memberships did decline in the last 2 years of Frawleys tenure as coach, when there was no success but have increased each year under Wallace, despite no on field success and winning a spoon.

Reading that it is clear that the Hawks have one of the biggest bandwagon followings in the AFL. When the success comes the fans come, when the success dries up the fans leave. Richmond fans, it would appear remain rather loyal to their club once they join.

Perhaps we can revisit this issue in a few years time when the Hawks may not be travelling as well on the field as they are now and see if they still have over 40k members. If they do then, I'll admit they're not bandwagoners, if they don't well then my point is proven.

Tiger .. you need to understand figures not just read them.
In 2004 we were a club in dissaray. We lost our CEO, there was a board challenge from Don SCott aganst Ian Dicker, the media were crucifying our club over the appointment of Alistair Clarkson instead of Wallace, Eade or Ayers.

At the same time the press were hailing the Tigers for recruiting the best two players in the draft and the master stroke of recruiting Wallace.

I see you call us finishing 11th in 2006 as "finals on the cards", where as for you after finishing 9th in 2006 it is people joining up with " no on-field success" ... strange comparison.

After working with the membership department for 12 years at Hawthorn, there is one factor you also have no consideration for .. every season , at every club 10-15% of exisiting members do not renew from one year to another. So at Richmond on average 3,000 people do not renew each year. They are replaced by new members . This is known as the churn rate. So every club has bandwagon supporters , as you call them every single year. HAwthorn has improved it's total signifcantly by not only getting new members but also nearly eliminating this churn rate, we have the best figures in the AFL now for this churn loss. You claim loyalty, but trust me the fact of life is that thousands drop away every year.

Also should clarify the term "new member"... this just means they were not a member last year. Every one of the 22% new members we have this year , could well be members from the past. It is a simple term to refer to whether our improvement over last year is just existing members re-signing early or bringing in members who were not part of last years tally.

At the end of the day - i don't care where our members come from, how long they have been a member or how long they stay. Every single one of them is a Proud, Passionate, Paid Up Hawk... and just as valuable to our club as a member as myself as a 20 year member. And the fact is that for every year bar one over the past 12 years we have had more of them than Richmond.

found this on the hawthorn website

"All Hawthorn Football Club members (including 4-game and 5-game and 1-game members) are given the opportunity to purchase a ticket during the first three weeks of the finals series"

So it seems the hawks don't have non-ticketed members but offer 5, 4 and wait for it 1 game membership!!!

No wonder they have so many members, do other clubs offer this?? I know the tigers certainly don't.

Re: 20% of Richmond Members don't want to go to their matches !!!

Haha.. a case of massaging the numbers. Its not like its the first time you lot try to inflate numbers

Yes amazing isn't it? I'd like to get a figure of how many of their total member numbers are made up of these type of memberships.

Of course we know it would be in the thousands, but the deluded dawks supporters will be claiming, it's only negligible .

any hawks supporters wanna explain this to us or would you rather just carry on believing your club actually has as many members as the propaganda it spits out says it does??

This year, we will have 40,000 ticketed and 10,000 non ticketed members. Not bad for a club who has done absolutely nothing for 27 years
Imagine what will happen if we make the finals this year and next year. We'll be avering 60,000 per game in 2011(as long as we don't have to play at carrara or skilled stadiums). Move over Collingwood ;)

Are you people actually that un-informed that you have no idea what an interstate membership is... guess what - Richmond have as many interstate members as any club in the AFL.....

AND IT'S A 5 GAME MEMBERSHIP WHICH YOU SAY RICHMOND DOESN'T OFFER

Here you go you ignorant fools try checking out your own clubs membership brochure...

https://www.clubsonline.com.au/shop...id=26209474&cftoken=24402812&dts=121200921228

The Country/Interstate 5 package includes:
  • Admission to a total of five Richmond home games. Members can substitute up to two of these games to attend interstate Tigers games (one ticket per game)
You complain about the TAssie 1 game mebership - but proudly state on your website that you have 3,869 ZERO game members.

You all have absolutely no clue whatsoever what is going on... why bother posting in a discussion about memberships when you don't understand the topic at all ????

maybe thats the point multiple quoter, we actually display how many of these memberships we have and they are called non ticketed rather then put them all in together and say we have this grand total when half could be non-ticketed.

How many 1 game members do you have?? I suppose we'll never know as if its a high figure the hawks would never make this public knowledge as it would make their final figures look a little silly wouldn't it?

Thousands more then likely, but we wont know unless they are included separately and not counted along with full memberships etc .

The one game meberships are not counted in our official AFL tally. And if the one game ticket really upsets you can deduct the 6 of them we have sold so far from our total of 32,000 members :thumbsu:

who says they are not counted? you have proof of this? And it seems the only person getting upset about all of this is you.

I just spoke with our club membership manager ... i rang just for you so you could sleep better at night wondering about how many of these were in our " inflated " total.

Six sold in total of the armchair membership... who cares if they are actually counted or not...

So funny - Tigers fans thought they could cling to some shred of hope that there was a reason they can't come close to matching our membership figures ... but that has been destroyed.

If no-one else is worried about this pleae explain your last 3 posts.

Try reading your quote again and think about how stupid you have just made yourself look..... :thumbsu:
Hmmm, poor spelling and comprehension skills. It means you have the education of a 1st grader, but I would have expected you to understand that anyway.

dean33, just remember he took leave to work for Hawthorn for some reason some time, so he knows all the mysteries of the universe now.

Tiger .. you need to understand figures not just read them.

Allow me to clarify, when I said finals were on the cards that referred to the side making the finals in 07. As the 07 season progressed many Hawk fans may have seen them with a chance of finals and may have joined.

With regards the Tigers, we've had no finals in the last 7 years, so it is not like our fans have been joining up thinking that we're a great chance for the finals. Should Richmond make the finals this year I would expect another 10k members in 2010. If they were to win a GF that year then I expect the numbers would increase again. Success brings in the members its as simple as that.

Just on you OP, even you would have to admit that Richmond have done well over the last 25 years to keep memberships as high as they have despite constant failures. Especially when you compare the figures with those clubs who have had far greater on field success like the Roos, Dogs, Saints and even Melbourne.

Of course i recognise that RT - just having a bit of fun on an otherwise boring afternoon. Richmond have not only done well with membership, but their attendances have been outstanding during this time also.

I actually think that with success (if it comes) they may become the leading Vic club for membership ....... and of course then i will be bagging you about "bandwagonners" :thumbsu:
