Nah it is locked, Woodson specifically said last week was the only week he would reopen it i am pretty sure, so BF will get the lowest score less 15

Yeah, thats one of the reasons why I was suggesting the other day that it is hard to run down the top teams late in the season - people quit and you start getting walkover wins.

(dont get me wrong Dspeed, you deserve the division win mate, you've been all over it for a while now)

Bugger, didnt realise I was the highest scoring loser this week.

Should be something for that. Make a win worth two, a loss worth zero, and the highest scoring 2-3 losers get a point.

I tipped Cleveland, he tipped Buffalo... Whoever wins that game decides this matchup (Both tipped Washington, I tipped them more though so its a moot game atm)

Talk about stiff. Looks like I'm going to score 100+ points and still get beaten. The last two weeks I have played the top 2 ranked players and lost by a combined 6 or so points.....

... Balmainforever (5-6) has Claimed the WIN already Z. Even if Browns win, you fall a point short of a the tie.

Jeez, hoping on results for another tie. KC killed me, had a feeling on that and was wrong. Have tipped 10 winners to 9, could even end up +2 on tips but will likely lose.

Can someone schedule me one of those Walkover Wins. They sound like fun. I'm sick of high scoring losses.

Thinking ahead for next year, and the problem of people quitting their teams and thus making the schedule less equitable, perhaps the draw needs to be done in such a way that at some point during the season there is a culling point where the lowest ranked teams are removed and a schedule (format agreed preseason) is done for the remaining games.

That or we need some better way of evening up the schedule. With 44 teams I know this is a nightmare, but I'd hate to see a good team miss the playoffs because of weak team getting a series of walkover wins.

Perhaps the ND comp only starts at a certain point in the season, whereby the top (say) 32 AE teams qualify, are then seeded, and play head to head duels with another team over a two week period.

For example, end of week 5, the top 32 teams qualify. Team 1 plays Team 32 (2vs31, 3vs30 etc) over Weeks 6 and 7, highest cumulative AE scoring team advances. Weeks 8/9 are the remaining 16 teams. Weeks 10/11 are the remaining 8 teams and Weeks 12/13 for the remaining 4 teams.

Then its the GF, played over 3 weeks in Weeks 14/15/16. Either have combined AE score, or simply have it as best 2 of 3.

This way we are still keeping the "duel" element, making it sufficiently different to the other competitions, yet reduce/eliminate the walkover problem.

I read you Statsman74. As GG is managing the comp this season and we (both GG & I) agreed upon the play-off formula for this season, it stays as it is although I had a few 'multi-team Showdown' play-off ideas thrown down to GG. So we'll definately look into the 'walkover wins situation' that will come with a rewarding system at the end of the day. I keep putting it out there to REMIND everyone to submit early. Not much I can do about 'busy people'. The ND schedule shouldn't be compromised if it's made up before the season starts, but qualifying for it will be looked into. That's what makes this comp intriguing / original.... we'll definately tweak it for the better Statsman.

No need to S74... I welcome such requests for improvements.. I really hoped that everyone would tip a few weeks in advance but that never really happens. Full credit to Southertakeover (1-10) who really has languished all season but still committed to the AE cause. No prize money offered this time, Trippy, but I'll see what kinda scheduling arrangement for 2009 we can work out.

The fact that the ND play-offs set up this season is Highest ranked plays lowest ranked on a sliding scale as a H2H schedule = anything can happen once you qualify. WildCards can easily
progress all the way. Of course, the real pressure is on the guys who have a TOP TEN spot on the AE standings who can't afford to have an 'off week' after Week 14 which will 'really sting them two fold'. There's always a down & upside to these comps. Wide OPEN RACe still.
