Matt Deboer – 187cm, 85kg – Claremont.
Solidly built midfielder who has had two pretty good champ series. Finds a lot of the ball and is good with his clearance work and positioning. Kicks mainly on the right side and his pace is reasonably good. Is good in traffic and his work rate is good. Needs to sharpen up on his kicking as he can miss targets by foot. Good player who knows where to run and how to find the pill.
If he can improve his kicking and his decision making (as far as where he kicks the ball) he could be close to a star midfielder.
Prediction – pick 10 to 40.
How does DeBoer's kicking rate if you compare it to Swallow's disposal?

michael thompson from the oakleigh chargers to be drafted next year... any comments?

There's another mitch brown.

He's a KPF playing school footy atm, think he's with sandringham for tac. ft at a time , i will deal with next years draft profiles next year :)

There is a Mitch Brown that has been playing very well in School footy . Dont know what TAC Cup list he is on as i can not find his name on any.
To answer the very first question , i don't get to see much school footy and i have not seen him play so it is hard to make any real comment on him.

plays for sandy dragons

Ok i know who you are talking about has been wearing number 40. I saw him against Nth Ball a few weeks ago at Sandy in the wet.
Played half forward and took a few good grabs but his kicking was nothing to write home about. Has a good leap and his crumbing skills where goood.

Do you reckon Ziebells a chance to go at 5 with our pick? Of what I saw of him I thought he (and Hurley) were the real standouts for our picks.

Mitch Brown kicked 4 goals for sandy yesterday ant, he was easily their best player. Has great hands, reads the play really well and has the knack of making everything look easy. He also has this ability to make his opponents look really ordinary.

jump on..........jump on

Jackson Trengove – 196cm, 77kg – Calder Cannons.
Another with an injury question mark after suffering a hamstring tendon injury earlier this year. Before going down with the injury he was in very good form. A tall defender with good pace who also had stints in the ruck in the TAC Cup. Had a great year last season and was one of the standouts. Good skills. Good pace. Great work rate and ability to read the game which is a big plus for a tall. Without the injury he would certainly be talked about as a genuine top 10 prospect or even higher. His injury may hinder his draft camp performance so the test results may not revile the full picture. He is good enough that you would certainly look at taking a risk with him.
Prediction – pick 10 to 30.
Would Hawthorn take the risk on him after Muston's injuries?

Trengove's hands were terrific in that clip.

Nice leap.

IMO Mitch Brown is potentially the best tall forward in the state. I have touted him all year on the school forum after I saw him kick 7 goals against ACK.

He dominated AGS footy and kicked 8 in the AGS v APS match.

He is now starting to show his class at TAC Cup level with the dragons.

I don't know where he has come from but he is certainly been the most consistent in form tall forward going around including Watts and co.

He is a genuine smokey.

i know watts has spent time in the midfield, but brown has showed up watts since he has been playing for sandy over the past 2 months

Great work Ant, some of the best profiles I've read.

So what's the story with Mitch Brown? Eligible for the ND this year? Why hasn't there been any buzz about him so far?

From the sounds of it, probably because he didn't play in the U18 Championships and he's mainly been playing school footy rather than TAC Cup.

I've seen a few boys from eagles (SANFL) were named. They have become reknown for producing young talent.Unfortunately, you, as many have, disregarded the cream of tha crop. Aaron Killian was considered tha best young prospect at the club only a year ago before he went down with injury. Was picked toplay 18s as junior for SA last year but had 2 pull out and opted for the world national track and field championships (Jumps an increible 215cm for high jump and sub 12 sec 100m). While extremely athletic, he has great hands in tha air and below tha knees for a big man (201 cm). Again missed tha state 18s this year, this time due to personal reasons unknown. Has gone under tha radar but local scouts recognise tha worth of an athletic ruckman who reads tha play and has great finishing skills. I'd look for him 2 go late second round but wouldn't be surprised to see the South Austrlian clubs take him much earlier such is his worth. you aint seen nothing yet:thumbsu:
