Re: 2008 - NFL Week 17

Go have a read of the Gang Green and see your own 'supporters' wanting to lose against your 'bigger' rival to deny the Patriots taking the East. Stop acting all high and mighty. The Jets are a disgrace, I hope you and your fellow fans continue to suffer for many many years to come.

On a lighter note, well done to Miami.

take your belligerent attitude to the AFL forum with all the other petty repetitive shit over there. 11-5 and no playoffs must hurt. but all the BS towards Jets is just an example of the complex Pats fans have with NY. and whats with trawling Jets forums?? the biggest contributer to the Landing Strip is 'PatsTXfan' with over 41,000 posts. does contribute some good stuff here and there, has been there since '97, but fug me he's been a pest over the last few years. Obsession! and ganggreen is a fuggin kids forum. it aint the Jets fault the Pats didnt make the playoffs. both Miami and New England have a 1-1 record against NY and the same division record. its been proven that the Jets are a distant 3rd in the div who simply had a run mid season. it's unfortunate the Pats didnt win the games that they needed to. in the end, every team has their destiny in their hands over the entire season, not simply in the final game.

as did mangina. he has proven he has absolutely no management for the game at the elite level.

im happy that it ended up being a loss. but once again, not for the reasons you seem convinced about. once the ravens looked comfortable, winning this match would have only been a case for keeping the mangina. the lead up all week at the landing strip was talk about ensuring he goes, and woody now needs to flick the switch on Mangina at the Jets.

anyway, is Cassel an FA at the end of the season? Jets could use both a QB and Punter. :thumbsu:

btw, death to all things dolphags! looking forward to seeing the Ravens dismantle their wildcat s h i t e!

man, someone's bitter that the dolphags beat the jests. ;)

So what's going to be on the Jets agenda for next year? Do they unload Mangini? Does Farve and the rest of guys signed during the offseason get canned? I think the Jets are going to be in cap hell for next year. Do you think they'll tear down the roster and rebuild?

Cassell will be in huge demand. I expect other teams like the Lions will chase him. There'll be a massive bidding war.

Re: 2008 - NFL Week 17

Hardly think it was Cowher that made the Steelers good. You have a good system in general, from top to bottom. So when Cowher left you still play good football, did he really have any influence.

as for that "ruined by that franchise" line, **** you too arseh*le.

Re: 2008 - NFL Week 17

OK here are my predictions

St Louis 3 @ 38 Atlanta.
New England 21 @ 14 Buffalo.
Kansas City 7 @ 20 Cincinnati.
Chicago 30 @ 24 Houston. (OT).
New York (G) 7 @ 24 Minnesota.
Carolina 31 @ 38 New Orleans.
Cleveland 0 @ 17 Pittsburgh.
Oakland 17 @ 21 Tampa Bay.
Tennessee 14 @ 17 Indianapolis.
Detroit 7 @ 48 Green Bay.
Jacksonville 10 @ Baltimore 17.
Seattle 14 @ 35 Arizona.
Washington 17 @ 20 San Francisco. (OT).
Miami 24 @ 17 New York (J).
Dallas 34 @ 42 Philladelphia.
Denver 37 @ 31 San Diego.

12/16
only Houston, Carolina, Oakland and San Diego screwed me up.

I knew Romo would choke but that badly, wow, getting updates throughout the Phins-Jets game and i just couldnt stop laughing.

3 coaches already fired today.

Im suprised by Rod Marinelli. How did he survive this far into the season?

They needed to make sure that #1 pick was secure.

You can never have too many early picks or WR's.

Actually, the truely amazing thing about the Lions, is that they probably do need to find another WR this offseason. Now that IS amazing.

Re: 2008 - NFL Week 17

Watched Sportscentre and saw the explanation for the Bills playcalling just prior to the half - one of their OL - get this - got into a fight, and as a result they didnt have time to run a play.
That was too funny. No doubt that centre copped an earful.

Re: 2008 - NFL Week 17

Wow, he is still alive. :D

Tell him thanks... and to watch out. Eagles are flying!
lol despite crying in your cereal last week? :p

Funny game though, thanks for the laughs Eagles.

good luck to the fins (not too much though)............and they use the wildcat formation very well....TBH i actually like to see it, but i like to see how the defense reacts to it and counter it more so. the fins could have hurt the jets with it on one play if not for an errant Ronnie Brown throw.......the 2 wildcat plays prior to it were runs and the jets countered it well.....but it was just a matter of time before they passed the ball over the line of scrimmage and that's what they were working towards with it. would have brought up points if RB connected.

it will be interesting to see how miami counter the baltimore run this week. in the last game between the two teams earlier this year, mcgahee averaged over 5yds on 19 carries. definately won the game for the ravens. in contrast, miami couldnt run the ball at all.

re the jets, the mangina issue has been dealt with.........favre will be soon imo.......he sold some PSLs, but he wont bring the organisation an NFL championship.

the big boys will be looking at a coach who will continue to implement a 34D. there's no personnel to go back to the 43 and to do so will mean another big off season in FA. There is a lot of money invested in Pace who is a 34 LB, Thomas is ineffective as a 43 lineman, and a DT will need to be sought as well to go back to a 43. this is in addition to another CB who will be required to partner Revis, and the safeties will be looked at as they were largely ineffective this season. on the flipside LB Jason trusnik had a great game against the fins in his first real contribution in both snaps and making plays.......will be someone to watch in the future with David Harris.

Coles is looking for another payday and should be given his thankyous and moved on if he's not going to be happy with accepting less. I commented earlier in the year that Favre wasnt going to be the saviour many Jets fans were hoping for as the team still was weakish at WR. Penny could work with them when he was healthy, but the limitations he had are the same limitations the receivers have. no speed, no deep threat. this is a necessity in every offense as defenses can break down underneath plays if they can easily cover the deep stuff. QB and WR will be scrutinised closely.

anyway, the front office spent too much money in the offseason which will be difficult to peal back. parcells turned over half the roster at miami apparently, a new coach and system, and came up with great returns. jets dont have that flexibility.

Crying? No. I threw the bowl.

The life of a Philly fan. The bastards break your heart one week, then produce one of the most amazing weekends of football ive ever seen. :)

Looking forward to this.... knowing the Eags, we'll be one and done, but despite that, theres no team in the playoffs im really scared of. We know we can handle the top seeded giants if we play right.
