Adelaide and Port never play hame games on the same weekend. Apart from showdowns, its always one at home and one travelling. I think a strict home-away-home-away rotation applies for all non-Vic sides. Only Melbourne, North, Dogs and very rarely Geelong travel twice in a row; not counting finals. (Richmond may have done once.)

An SA club playing in Melbourne/Adelaide for two consecutive weeks does happen now and then. See Rounds 18 and 19 this year.

Round 18
Adelaide v. Carlton - AAMI Stadium
St.Kilda v Port Adelaide - Telstra Dome

Round 19
Adelaide v Richmond - AAMI Stadium
Carlton v Port Adelaide - Telstra Dome

It's the WA sides that stick to alternating home and away due to the distance.

I stand corrected, it does happen occasionally. But very, very rarely.
And never are both at home in the same week (except, of course, for Showdowns - and techincally one is away then, just not traveling).

7 Games at Skilled Stadium ain't gonna happen!
Back-to Back Games in Perth is a joke!
Why don't you shift our game against St. Kilda in Round 21 to Skilled Stadium?
We only play Hawthorn once!
Other than that, a great Fixture, not many people even finish one (I am doing one right now, I am only up to Round 16 and my mind is exhausted!) :thumbsu:

Round 7:
Friday, 1st May
Carlton v Hawthorn MCG (n)
Saturday, 2nd May
St.Kilda v North Melbourne TD
Fremantle v Melbourne S
Sydney v Essendon ANZ (n)
West Coast v Collingwood S (n)
Sunday, 3rd May
Western Bulldogs v Adelaide TD (e)
Geelong v Brisbane Lions SS
Richmond v Port.Adelaide MCG (t)

What The?
Why would Brisbane play a 2:10pm Game on a Sunday?!
More likely Saturday Afternoon or Early Sunday!

From a Richmond perspective I see the following issues:
5 Away games to start the season just wont happen.
Neither will 12 home games (as much as we would like them)

In Week 1 of the 2003 finals, they each hosted a final at AAMI Stadium in the same weekend.

Adelaide v West Coast
Port Adelaide v Sydney

With ANZAC day falling on a weekend for the first time in a while, it could open the possibily of a Monday game on the 27th if the current State VIC government make it the sub PH for Anzac Day. I know Bracksy took it away, but it was a PH for just about the rest of the country from memory

I've done this a few times, you can search for my efforts. While I think this one was done by hand, I do mine with Excel, locking in who plays who where first (with the teams you play twice roughly based on previous years in an effort to even things up, with blockbusters [Ca v Co, Ca v Es, Co v Es, Ad v PA, Fr v WC] protected). Then I piece it together like a puzzle. I also ensure that Victorian teams only play four interstate away games a year each, to ensure parity.

The really tough thing is trying to ensure teams don't travel in back-to-back weeks, or play three non-home games in a row. Once you ensure this for interstate teams, it becomes difficult. For Hawthorn with 8 interstate games, it's almost impossible. Then you have to make sure you only have 5 games a week at MCG/TD, no two games in Adelaide/Perth/SEQueensland.

And then you have to spread Friday nights around, Easter, Rivalry, and so on.

We've only got 6 Home Games at Skilled Stadium!
We've got 3 Home Games at the MCG!
Why?
Which means we've only got 9 Home Games!
Why?
Other than that, Nice Effort! :thumbsu:

Unless Geelong want to do some sort of mini-camp in Perth.

It was tried maybe ten years ago, can't remember exactly when and who, but the club in question hated it, losing both games, and it's never been done since. And considering clubs fly home from Perth after a night game, then it's unlikely it will ever happen again.

And if Channel Seven asked for no North games on Friday nights then that is an absolute disgrace.

Great effort:thumbsu:

Good:
A break after the trip to Darwin
v Collingwood Round 1

Bad:
v Collingwood Round 1, at the Telstra Dome?
Geelong at SS

And how many St Kilda games do you have on Friday night?
We only have 2. And seriously, the last team I want to watch on a Friday night is St Kilda.

What are peoples thoughts? Give me feedback if i need to change a few things around.

Hope it's not true look how many Sun games we have, I hate the sun games especially travelling from Echuca, My wishes are that North have maybe 2 games against Essendon, Collingwood, Carlton and Hawthorn who are good crowd pullers, more Sat/Sat night and Fri night games probably won't happen. The draw should look like where all the teams play each other once then play each other again not like this year where some of the teams played each other twice up until Round 12 or 14
