Hawthorn are contracted to play 7 MCG home games and 4 Tassie home games, because of this we havent played a TD home game for 2 years

Youve got us down to play 2 home games at the TD and just 2 in Tassie

Dont like playing Richmond at the Dome, Im against MCG and TD tenants playing at non home grounds

According to the Hawks board apparently channel 7 want 6 Blues and Hawks Friday games next year and the Cats dont want 8 Friday games next year, like this year

What I like about it - 12 home games for Brisbane plus 7 in Melbourne.

What I don't like - only 2 home games in first 7 rounds.

Whilst i wouldn't complain with 14 games at Footy Park both showdowns are listed as Crows home games and on a few occasions you have both teams listed as playing at Footy Park on the same weekend, which never happens unless its a showdown. Nice try tho, i think the board brains trust would've loved it.

Thank the lord this isn't for real. I just went absolutely ballistic in my office and alarmed several coworkers before realising that it was unofficial.

I am in Oz for 2-3 weekends for my wedding party on April 5 next year. This fixture would have seen my wedding clash with the Melb-Cats game and then the Dees would have been playing in Pert the weekafter.

What does MO stand for?

I almost cried.

Rounds 14 and 22 would never work for the SA teams either. Both the crows and port play away... As a general rule one of these teams should be playing at home.

Nice try tho i liked it :thumbsu:

How the hell would they schedule a double-header at the MCG FFS ?

Also it has been reported on 3AW that next year that both Hawthorn and Carlton will be playing at least 6 games on friday night next year ...
No Friday Night games for North next year either (Channel 7 don't want any more games on friday night with North it seems)

Are you serious? What a way for the AFL needing to owe us 1.2 mill. I think the club asked for 4 Friday nights. Though i can't see it happening.

Then again, it is 3AW, half of their stories is rubbish.

You wouldn't think that Collingwood's opening game would be at the Dome. Not a very smart commercial decision.
There's no way we'll travel more than 4 times either. Thank the AFL for that.

Melbourne to end with five away games? Not a chance. WCE, three consecutive away games? Collingwood to host Melbourne for Queens Birthday, pretty rare, look at old fixtures.

One interesting one that I'd love to go to- Hawks and Richmond twilight. Anzac eve. I really like Monday night football. More of this would be great. Finish work, MCG, go home, EXCELLENT.

I'm ready for my knockers on this one but I'd love to see the rivalry round not covered by any memberships. This would allow a double header at the G that would definately sell out. The AFL could make good money on this with an addition to ticket prices because you are paying for a longer day. Food sales would be huge and they could have a period between games where alcohol is restricted if they think binge drinking would be a problem. All four teams playing would have the experience of a Grand Final(a packed house with half the people not caring about their game).

What do you think assassin?

Totally agree have a funny feeling itll happen sometime next year, just to experiment just like they did the 5 games on Saturday in Round 22 this year.

Carlton is playing 8 games.
Hawthorn is playing 6 games.

Hmmm.. let me see....

Good effort.

How is a double header going to work? Outrageous idea. At the same venue.

5 away games for Pies

They have tried it before back in 1986 (I think) I can't remember who played but North Melbourne were in one game as were Melbourne and Geelong but I was ten so I may be incorrect on who played.

Tipping a Hawks premiership there smiling assassin? Wasn't there a ruling that the first grand final rematch the following season would be played at the home ground of the runners-up?

Freo will play on Anzac day (or night) - it's a request that is put in every year and the AFL accommodate for the Len Hall game, just because it's not the Essendon/Collingwood game doesn't mean it's not important. I can't see it not happening in 2009.

Freo and West Coast won't play at Subi on the same weekend. You've got them both at home in rounds 6 and 15 (which is a 'double header' I assume - bit of a problem when you've got a full house of members for both clubs, you can't turn the ground around that quickly).

Freo and West Coast need to alternate - one week home, one week away because the travel is too much for them to be doing it continuously. This still needs to happen even for the derbies, so West coast would be the home side round 2, then play an away derby round 3, and back at home for round 4.

Freo have 13 'home' games but only 1 in the last 4 weeks - never going to happen.
