What a joke the footy public are.

Seriously, anyone who doubts the idiocy and stupidity of the football public need look no further than the latest popular footy myth - Riewoldt is a diver!!

My god.

The AFL and the media must just sit back and giggle at how easily led and easily preyed upon their client base is.

Anyway, let's just do a hypothetical and say that Riewoldt is a diver and gets looked after by the umps.
Throw in the fact that Joel Selwood is a serial stager and ducker, and Paul Chapman who can't even walk down the street without diving randomnly face first into the pavement every time a bypasser gets within 3 feet of him, and his protegy Andrew Mackie who although not in the same class as Chapman - tries very hard to emulate his performances - what the hell will the game be like this week???!!!

Will the umps stop paying frees to Riewoldt because he's a diver? And stop paying frees to Chapman for his ducks and dives, and stop giving Selwood freebies for dropping his knees, and stop giving Mackie and Corey frees for their regular renditions of the old 'face first slide on the plastic with detergent on it in the backyard' trick?

Seriously, if the footy public are correct and Roo dives, Chapman, Selwood, Ablett, Corey and Mackie stage chronically - what sort of game will we get this week??

If the umps put the whistle away - who will be better off without their opponents getting 'looked after' by the umps?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but no one actually gives a crap what you think because you're "unlisted".

You really hate that people are calling Riewoldt a diver now. How many threads is this?

Answer the question man!

Who would be better off if the umps put the whistle away this Saturday?

I think it's a very interesting question to be posing. Geelong rely heavily on getting frees, and it seems according to the masses - the Saints relied on them to get to the GF.

All I can hear is 'whinge, whinge, whinge, please dont hurt our beloved Sir Nick.'

So you're obviously a Saints fan. Because in your mind, it is only speculation that the Saints rely on free kicks, but Geelong definitely DO rely on them.

To be honest, the masses don't think that either Geelong or St Kilda have relied on free kicks to get to the Grand Final. I'd say that 99% of people would know that it is because they have been the 2 best teams all year.

In every game of every round of every year, there are contentious free kicks given and contentious decisions to not award a free kick. No team is favoured more or less than the other by the umpires and to think otherwise is ridiculous.

Please stop making stupid threads.

In answer to your question, it would make no difference as no matter what happens, the game is going to be decided on 2 things - who is the better team, and who handles the pressure of a grand final the most.

I thought you'd say "Saint Nick". That's the norm.

And my addition to the point is this.
Roo is a gun. Embodies FQF. Determined to win the flag. Top AFL player in every quality.

I don't dismiss him as a player. Superstar forward who has his chance this week to bookmark himself in the champion status by captaining his side to a premiership ala Careys Kangaroos in the '90s.

I just love the way saints fans almost cry when someone speaks wrong of their untouchable golden boy.:p
