2009 Trade Discussion - Part 3

Haselby > Hartlett (dont like getting rid of haze but my other cows will make more ie Beams, Otten and Rich)
Harvey > Pavlich

Next Week
Skipworth > Deledio
Petrenko > Broughton

Week after
Stephen Hill > Luke Hodge
Andy Otten > Joel Corey

At least thats what im aiming at doing. An injury will prob wreck my plans. Would leave me with 13 trades left needing about 4 or 5upgrades.

What are peoples thoughts on this:

Walker ----> Warren
Hurn ----> Hodge

????????????

It will leave me with only four more players to upgrade. The down side is that I have already used five trades.

Hurn and Walker won't go up much more and Hodge will only go down an extra 15K max.

Yea good trade imo

So happy that Hilles price didnt change...far out!

Now to trade him out

2 options ive thought of at the moment, i have no cash in the bank though

Hille to Sandilands (straight swap)
and i will downgrade one of walker or petrenko depending on how teams are named

OR

Hille to Petrie (would hav to spend a bit extra to get petrie over sandi)
and i will downgrade one of walker or petrenko depending on how teams are named

In my mids currently the 7th, 8th and 9th positions are otten, beams and robbo.

I'm not convinced that Barham will hold his place very long, his disposal is shite. And Collins should lose his place to Cousins, Cotchin or Raines in the next 2 weeks. If you buy Collins all you'll get is 1 price rise. A safer option would be Hartlett. I know he's more expensive but i think he's got more job security. Anthony is listed on injury update as a rd 7 return. Obviously thats going to be a VFL return so rd 8 or 9. Good downgrade target for Rich, Otten or Beams but ouch for those who kept him.

Only if they leave him as 1st Ruck. Will Bellchambers come in and Ryder go back to CHB?

Ryder will stay No.1 ruckmen imo and could also do some resting in the forward line. It would be good to have another look at him, but with a negative breakeven, it's this week or never. I can't even believe that I am mentioning keeper and Ryder in the same sentence, but it is a definite possibility imo.

My analysis shows that he could easily average 80:

Per week expectation is a 20 hitout 15 possession game.
Hitouts - 20
Kicks - 24 (8)
Handballs - 14 (7)
Tackles - 12 (3)
Marks - 12 (4)

Total: 82.

I am very keen to get rid of hille and although i may cop a zero or to in the next few rounds the long term future will be bright if i take advantage of some bargains at the moment...

2 options atm
Option 1 (cop a zero)
Walker to Warren
Thomas to Pavlich
then the week after Hille to Petrie

Option 2
Hille to Petrie
Walker to Warren

Miss out on getting Pav as a bargain and save a trade but dont cop a zero.

Anyone else have Heath Scotland on their radar? He's still coming back from an injury interrupted preseason a bit, but he should IMO finish the year with the highest average for the backs and he'll be dropping to around 360K after next week.

is anyone else looking into lenny hayes. he was scoring 70's and 80's with 50% game time and on the weekend scored 130. with the saints at full flight i think lenny is going to be a great pick.

priced at 395 700 with a b/e of around 72 i think this will be as cheap as he will be all year.

i have skipworth in the mids on the bench atm, still deciding wether to keep him or not, and atm i am playing 3 rookies in the middle on the field.

trades this week i am thinking

rich ---> Barham/Collins
skipworth ---> Lenny Hayes

i would wait another week for rich however i dont like playing 3 rookies in the mids with no back up.

thoughts?

I am considering,

Hasleby > Hartlett

Ellis > Bowden.

I know Bowden is quite expensive compared to Hodge, Enright and others however I feel Bowden is top 3 back this year. Converesly I think Enright and Hodge will just sneak into the top 10, so the points are a priority.

Ya Lenny looked good and the Dt out put of Saints Mids is up cept Ball. But for a extra 30k you have Corey whose up Vs Melbourne this week.

Trades im looking at 2 options.

Skippy -> Pav (has he found form?)
Mackay -> Corey (dt scores down a wee bit. why? roll change? Gablett hogging the ball?)

or

Skippy -> Leon ( in great form atm)
Mackay -> Lenny/Murphy (2 dt guns butMurphy set to drop even more)

I think Rich has some way to go yet. Wait 'til he's $300k+

Going to be a very very intersting week for trading I feel...

Personally I have a multitude of options / things to consider... namely, what to do with Skipworth/Harvey and whether to cash in on at least one of my rookies for extra cash... and jump on one of the few rookies that are likely to be on the rise this weekend.

These are my current thoughts...currently have about 110k in the bank.
Skipworth -> hold on bench, see what happens in the coming weeks.
Harvey -> Trade, Pav, Franklin MAYBE Riewoldt.
T.Tuck -> Hartlett, think Tuck has a lot to give, but with his B/E and not wanting to miss out on Hartlett, he is my best option to trade out atm.

Other downgrade options:
Walker
Rich

Thoughts on these trades to be used in the next 3 weeks...i think ive decided wat i will do, forgive me if i change 5 mins later hahaha

This round
Petrenko down to Greenwood
Thomas up to Pavlich

Next Round
Hille to Petrie
Beams to Anthony

2 rounds time
Otten to Marc Murphy/Joel Corey

This uses 5 trades but it means that my team looks like this

Backs
Goddard
Chornes
Hodge
Houlihan
Drummond
Adcock
Petrenko -----> Greenwood

Cheney
Broughton

Ablett
Swan
Gibbs
Pendles
Otten-----> Marc Murphy/Corey
Tuck

Beam ----> Anthony
Robbo

Jolly
Hille ----> Petrie

Jacobs
Browne

Deledio
Franklin
Gia
Thomas----> Pavlich
Higgins
Skipworth
M. Brown

Ballantyne
Walker

Although i will only hav 12 trades left i feel that it is worth it as i only hav to upgrade a minimum of 4 players...and i can leave 4 for injuries and players like higgins and houlihan who i got as cash cows but have excelled.

is this a fair idea
this week
aaron joseph out for barham
mitch brown out for warren
next week
petrenko out for newman
and murphy out for ablett

Murphy is a keeper...i really dont think you should trade him. I know though that everybody who doesnt hav ablett is pissing there pants! :p
I think you should swap joseph for Hartlett. Hartlett is a way better option then barham although he is more expensive. Hartlett the way he is going could potentially become a keeper or a very reliable 8th mid. I like the way you get rid of petrenko and get a falling newman

Any thoughts on my plan...

I would check Mitch Brown's BE if I were you. I'm pretty sure he's not finished making money yet. Do you have another forward like Taylor Walker or Skipworth?

And assuming that's Marc Murphy you're trading for Ablett. - Big mistake! Murphy's a premium. Use your upgradable players to bring in Ablett.

You really want to keep within the fundamental strategies of DT. - The trades mentioned go against that.

For me this week.

Skipworth => Goodwin
Walker => For a rookie

I have enough cash to Skippy to Goody without the Walker trade.

If I do these trades I will have about 110k in the bank, will look at upgrading Suban then who is stinking it up majorly.
