Yeah as Impromptu said posted that after the game. Not happy Jan.

On the surface, it's an absolute disgrace. The turf either shifts or you do the splits like Montagna did. They'd want to do something about it quick smart or they'll find themselves in a bunch of trouble as it becomes more and more obvious the ground is the reason for all these injuries

Round 19 Captain

First week of finals, skipper choice could be the difference between a win and loss especially with the Cats and Pies facing off, this could be the week for a more uniqueish choice.

Ess v Carl (MCG)
NM v Fre (Etihad)
Syd v Haw (SCG)
Gee v Coll (MCG)
WC v BL (Subi)
Stk v PA (Etihad)
Melb v Rich (MCG)
Ade v WB (AAMI)

On form, it's probably a 2 horse race between SuperSwan and dare i say it, SuperSelwood but personally i think i'll be steering clear of that game. One of the Saints boys at Etihad for me.

NB. Averages listed are from the 12 top averaging players from their last 3 weeks not last 3 games against their opponent. I'll leave that to spud or mark from yscc to post later

Goddard for mine. Ling would be going to Didak, so Swan might not be a bad pick still... but if it's a thrashing in the opposite direction to your captain or even a close game, the 150+ scores you'd hope for probably won't eventuate.

I'm not so sure about that.. I'd say if Ling doesn't go to Swan, he will go to Pendlebury as he did last time they played earlier in the year. Didak will probably be picked up by Jimmy Kelly, assuming he starts on the forward flank.

Probably Goddard, although if I bring him in, Nick Riewoldt is mighty tempting against Port.

certainly back to the tried & true goddard or hodge.

am bringing in ablett this week and probably need one of these guys to outscore him to have any chance of a win, as likely opponents captain.

I'm thinking Ablett this week.

With the 3 tall fwds all playing together for the 1st time in about 4 weeks I think you will find that Ablett will play the game in the midfield.

Pies will put more attention into Selwood rather than Ablett.

Not sure yet. Hodge burnt me last week, so not him. The obvious choices would be Goddard or Ablett.... At this stage it's Goddard, buy may change to a more unique option in Boyd or Hayes.

I think Ling will tag Swan, so be wary.

Hodge might go head-to-head with Goodes.

I'll go with Goddard or Hodge.

ablett is a bad captain choice for round 19 as this is collingwoods biggest game of the decade! The young emerging star in welingham will close down gold coast's future captain.

No he won't.

And with Corey and friends out it's more midfield time for the Gaz.

FWIW I decided to stick with Gazza, every time I've removed the permacap over the years, it's bitten me big time.

It was also easy because it was obvious my opponent would go Gazza so happy to nullify that and fight on the rest.

Having said that, if it rains, people with captain Selwood will be VERY happy. I did find that change tempting.

Followed Spuds advise and went Goodes over Ablettt and Goddard (Don't have Swan). Couldn't ignore his record against them, and even during his slow start this year one of the few times he toped the ton prior to his recent run of form was against the Hawks. Fingers crossed. My opponent went Ablett which will hurt me ten fold being a cat man.

Went out on a limb and gave the 'C' to new recruit Col Sylvia. 100th game, hot form, playing richmond.... I have nothing to lose
