Round 17 Captain

Lightning has now struck not once but twice with Gazza scoring 76 to follow his 79 from the week before. The law of averages would predict a monster coming from the bald headed one but watching him and the cats i'm not so sure anymore.

His previous scores against Brissy - 102, 149, 99, 142, 146.

EDIT: NB. Averages in brackets are for the last 5 weeks not last 5 games against their opponents.

Re: Round 17 Captain

With the Saints back at Etihad, I'll be looking at Montagna or Goddard. Didn't realise Goddard loved the Hawks so much avg of 137! Noticed Ablett up in Brissy in round 8 only got 102 with Polkinghorne doing a good job on him. Perhaps Super Selwood could be my other option.

Re: Round 17 Captain

Those averages are from their last 5 weeks not 5 games against their opponents oops. Should probably make it a little clearer.

Is that ethical picking a captain against your own team?

Ummm, I wouldn't do it, but I go for St Kilda so I never have to. It depends on whether you can live with barracking for someone from the other team, I guess.

I'm considering Swan, as much as I don't really like the man. Selwood looks extremely tempting though....

We'll see.

Re: Round 17 Captain

the boot studder at geelong will pull 100+ this week.

who got the points in the cats 500+ possession game recently ?

might be a good guide to who of the on ballers to pick. maybe chappy.

pods is the query - he could very well star, kicking 10 in addition to his normal 80 point game.

despite being a huge hodge/goddard fan all year, im picking one of my cats crew.

Re: Round 17 Captain

Super Selwood for me. Heading to the Cattery for the first time for the year and looking forward to seeing the contested possession king smash the Lions. :thumbsu:

Re: Round 17 Captain

Pods, Pendles or Boyd will get the job for me.

Re: Round 17 Captain

I find it hard to believe Ablett will pull out another ordinary game. Those that deviate away from him this week might just be kicking themselves by the end of the week. Swan would be the next best option one would think as his consistancy has been amazing this season

I used to do it when it was Ablett 100% of the time. Now I avoid it because there's usually just as good options elsewhere, e.g. Goddard, Ablett, Judd and Swan are all roughly on a par as captain options currently.

Re: Round 17 Captain

Awww jeeez. If i go Swan, he gets 70. Ablett 170. If i go Ablett, he gets 70, Swan gets 150+.

I need to make a move up the ladder so I am going to either go Swan or Selwood.

Re: Round 17 Captain

Will more than likely go Selwood, red hot form at SS against brissy its a gimme surely?

Here's the weekly YSCC Captain Column again:
http://www.yoursupercoachcoach.com/main/misc/featured/captain-picks-of-the-week-round-17/

Picked Selwood as our #1 captaincy option last week, was especially good in a poor week for most captaincy options, hopefully this week's tips will pan out as well!

Gee if i had Juddy i'd be going with this in a heartbeat.
Judd's hit 110+ against the Eagles in every game since his move to Carlton. Judd’s in the best form he’s been in since ’06, averaging 122 so far this season. Judd will enjoy returning to his old home ground of Subi, which he would still know very well. Judd averages a ludicrous 131 at Subi. From his last 25 games at Subi, Judd only failed to hit the SC ton twice, scoring 130+ there a massive 52% of the time. Judd scored 142 against the Eagles when they played in round 10 this year.
