Hasn't Bartell been playing on the wing in the NAB games?

Yes but we haven't been playing all our midfielders so don't assume he'll play wing in round 1.

Friends,

On the DT board in the 'rate my team' section Gablett is getting donuts in the love department, I am really struggling to work this out.

People are suggesting that now he has his Brownlow he may have a little less hunger, others are saying he will play forward more, others mention that GC17 and his break-up with Phillips (babe) may affect his mental resolve. I however will be jumping on the little bastard like my life depends on it. Year in year out I ignore this man and every week my opponent places a little (c) next to his name and I get torn a new one.

Am I making a mistake? The blokes a champion and I do not doubt him for 1 minute, but even if he averaged a lofty 100 I would lose cash that I could do with in other departments. Will he maintain the standards which he has set the last 2 and a half years?

Thanks in advance brothers.

Hi Fellas,

May have noticed little Byrnes name in the forwards list at 375k in dreamteam this year. Last year was a "breakout" season in terms of fantasy land for Byrnes with him pushing through the midfield.

Has he been training well? Will he continue through the midfield in 2010? can he lift his average? His spot seems cemented with the Stokes drama at least as a small forward.
What do you think?

Thanks!

Byrnes had a massive improvement in 2009. I would never buy him but I expect he paid decent dividends for anyone who was crazy enough to take a punt on him last year. Don't bother this year though.
See above.

Is Bartell worth it at his price or should I look at someone cheaper such as Boyd or Mitchell? I am asking this because I am unsure on what role Jimmy is gonna play this year.

What I would do (if you are set on one or the other) is:

- Find their averages from previous season and use these figures to try and predict their averages for 2010
- Find out how much they each cost in 2010
- Then for each, divide their cost by your predicted 2010 average and pick the one with the lowest number

As a rough estimate, what can you see Josh Hunt averging this year in DT? Should he play 22 games, if fit?

He should, whether he will or not is another matter. I suspect he'll play a fair chunk of the season.

l thought about that as well so l got Barry hall instead.l really know dont much about super coach this is my first year doing it good luck choosing who you want

I can't comment from a Dreamteam perspective, but I think you would be crazy not to have Ablett for Supercoach. Put him as your capt each week and you almost have 300 points in the bag. Ignore all the other stuff going on in his life, he's a professional, it won't impact his performance.

is Mitch Duncan and James Podsiadly likely to get many games this year?

I've added both to my rookie list. Podsiadly will play about 10-12 games according to Bomber Thompson himself.
Duncan has impressed with his preseason games so he'll probably get an opportunity but hard to say how many games he'll get. Simon Hogan would be in front of him for a midfield spot but injured his back during the preseaon (nothing terribly serious), but it seems to have put him back a little, maybe enough for Duncan to get a few games. Stokes is out for a while so Hogan and Duncan will be in the mix. Worth a punt on Duncan, cheap so possibly big upside.
But - if you're looking for cheap rookies, the ex Geelong player now Doggies, Brodie Moles looks the goods. The only reason the Cats got rid of him was he couldn't break into our midfield and Simon Hogan is 3 years younger.

I don't think Hawkins scores particularly well. Varcoe seems in for a big season, but hasn't scored well previously. I'd always lean towards the midfielder rather than the powerforward as the big men are too hit and miss.

whos taking harleys role on the third tall?

i was worried it might be enright yet his scoring has been through the roof.

any cats fans brave enough to jump on ottens

sorry to keep on the Josh Hunt theme, but did he play in the NAB challenge game? I didn't see his name in a match report I read from Yea and I know the storm forced the Lions one at Visy to be cancelled.

Maybe you can help one of your bitches out? ;)
Thanks in advance.

In the Richmond game, he played but only scored 35 DT points. I wouldn't be put off by this though as we got flogged with more than half the team out.

Counter question - Will Armitage be the definate replacement for Ball, or is he competing with others for a spot still.

Armo would have to be hands down favourite for Ball's spot. He's got a good discount in SC and should play every game barring injury. He got 5 brownlow votes from 3 games last year at a SC average in the mid 90s (I don't do DT sorry). He was BoG in that Tassie game where we rested everyone. Has been good in the NAB Cup too.

Pods...clearly given how everyone at the club speaks of him, what Bomber said and and all the other indications etc, they want him in the senior team, so I think he'll play some. Maybe 10 or so. I have him on my bench at the moment and will just wait. The first rookie elevation deadline is soon so I'd wait til then and you'll know. If he plays he's a bargain.

Duncan...looks good but one swallow doth not make a summer...plus doth not make tipping a top liner out of our midfield to get in. I'd watch if he rips it up in the VFL and consider him later.

Hunt takes Harley's spot even though he's not a tall. Mackie and Dasher can play tall if need be. Against sides that are really tall Gillies and Drum get a look in as well. I doubt it will be boris.

Re Ottens, geez it's tempting when he's such a bargain at $239k and guys like Sandi are well over $400k, but being Otto, he's too likely to miss a large chunk through injury. It's a massive punt to take.

I would have thought Hunt takes Kelly's spot in defence, while Drum or Gillies will likely take Harley's role.

G'day guys,

Help me out please! Joel Selwood or Jimmy Bartel?

Don't think i'll be disappointed either way, but which player can you see dominating SC this year?

Hey guys, Any word on how Drum is travelling?

And how many games do think he will play this year?
:thumbsu:Cheers
