2010 Ladder Predictions

Are we the ones who bragged before the season had even started saying we would finish in the 8? Then finishing in the cellar? No, no we weren't. That was Richmond before the 09 season. And you are calling us delusional...

Who bragged? Please, enlighten us genius.

The media built everything up with cousins arrival not the club or the supporters. Typical knee jerk reaction when i pointed out some facts about your forward line and the draw

In a normal year, your wins last year would have got you 10/11, so don't get too excited.

Then again you do have the 5 game saviour.....GUMBY!! The next Wayne Carey!!

AS i said, you guys are bottom four certainities.( lets hope hurley keeps out of trouble!

Pathetic. Putting it down to the media when in fact Richmond supporters had their pathetic club in the top 4 in predictions threads similar to this one.

You cannot say we're terrible when you support Richmond.
Let's hope Cuz stays off drugs this year (unlike last!) or at least they cover it up as well as they did in 2009.

Richmond are always down the bottom and they are the team you can expect to be there year after year because they are a losers club with no promise what so ever. When they do have promise they flop. Absolute joke you are, just like your sad minuscular club.

WTF???

Ok, since I can't be stuffed sifting through the 45 pages in this Thread to revise my predictions, I've decided to simply make another one:

1. Collingwood- Collingwood are only going to get better.
2. St. Kilda- St. Kilda will have another great season, however, I believe that last year was sort of a one-off for the Saints.
3. Footscray- The Dogs last real crack at the flag will be this year, however, I'm sorry to say that I believe the Dogs have a Preliminary Final hoodoo that will continue.
4. Geelong- It's honestly laughable to suggest we won't be a serious threat for the flag again this year. However, this is our last year at the top.
5. Brisbane Lions- Brownvola will prove to be a successful combination for the Lions.
6. Adelaide- Adelaide will be a bit of a threat, but simply aren't as potent in comparison to the top 4 teams.
7. Hawthorn- The Hawks will surely make the 8 after their slip-up and horrible run with injuries last season.
8. Essendon- I've underestimated the Bombers and I think they will win a final in 2010.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
9. West Coast Eagles- I consider the Eagles a big chance to make the eight this year, however, I don't think it will be so.
10. Carlton- Carlton Supporters are deluded to think they will be top 4 material next year. Maybe in several years, but now, whoah.
11. Sydney Swans- Sydney will fight hard but it won't be enough.
12. North Melbourne- An unpredictable and improving side, and are getting closer to the mark as they have drafted very well. However, it's easy to forget they are still a young and developing side.
13. Port Adelaide- Are uninspiring and boring.
14. Fremantle- See Port Adelaide.
15. Richmond- *Tumbleweed*.
16. Melbourne- Melbourne will improve this year? Yeah right. They may have some good kids coming through but are rubbish and lack experience full stop.

Grand Final: Collingwood v Geelong
Premiers: Geelong
Wooden Spoon: Melbourne
Brownlow Medal: Lenny Hayes (St. Kilda)
Coleman Medal: Lance Franklin (Hawthorn)
Norm Smith Medal: Paul Chapman (Geelong)

1. Collingwood- Collingwood are only going to get better.
2. St. Kilda- No reason to suggest the Saints will drop off.
3. Footscray- The Dogs last real crack at the flag will be this year, and expect them to have a big crack at it.
4. Geelong- Will be a little less potent during the home and away season, but will fire on all cylinders during September.
5. Adelaide- Adelaide won't be as good as many are forecasting, but will nonetheless still be very good in 2010.
6. Brisbane Lions- Brownvola will prove to be a successful combination for the Lions.
7. West Coast Eagles- The Eagles will surprise a few and make finals.
8. Hawthorn- Will be a little disappointing but will just do enough to make the eight.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
9. Essendon- Sorry Essendon, you simply can't make finals with a lack of senior experience.
10. Carlton- Carlton Supporters are deluded to think they will be top 4 material next year. Maybe in several years, but now, whoah.
11. Sydney Swans- Sydney will fight hard but it won't be enough.
12. Port Adelaide- Will improve but nonetheless be uninspiring.
13. Fremantle- See Port Adelaide.
14. North Melbourne- An unpredictable and improving side, but are still a long way off the mark. Could finish as high as 10th IMO.
15. Richmond- *Tumbleweed*.
16. Melbourne- Melbourne will improve this year? Yeah right. They may have some good kids coming through but are rubbish and lack experience full stop.

Certainly the best I have seen so far and I'm not going to argue one bit with one so obviously in tune with the footy gods.:D

Too many people focus on Essendon's capitulation in the final last year. We had half the bloody side out. We beat Carlton and Hawthorn twice, Collingwood and St Kilda once thru the season.

Essendon to swap with West Coast in your top 8. I agree WC will improve but not that much.

1. Collingwood With the inclusion of Jolly and Ball and developing young kids should set the competion alight.
2. St.Kilda Cant see them dropping off and will be in the mix again.
3. Geelong No reason for them to fall out of the 4 and will be a force for a fourth straight year.
4. Western Bulldogs Just about running out of oppotunities, with ageing stars.
5. Adelaide Will miss out on the top 4 by percentage but with the young stars will be every chance to take out the premiership.
6. Hawthorn Will do enough to make the finals but miss plenty of oppotunities.
7. Essendon Will find some consistency and with the tough draw will challenge the stronger teams.
8. Brisbane Will start with a head of steam but will struggle against the stronger midfields and backlines.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
9. West Coast Will suprise many but just miss the eight after a strong middle part of the season.
10. Sydney Much the same from the swans.
11. Carlton Will be lost without Fev but will improve towards the end of the season.
12. North Melbourne Will improve on last year.
13. Fremantle I think will surprise a few but will lose some that they should win.
14. Richmond I think they will improve but not dramatically.
15.Melbourne Meh.
16. Port Adelaide Will struggle against rising teams.

Grand final: Collingwood VS Western Bulldogs
Premier: Collingwood
Brownlow: Scott Pendlebury
Coleman: Matthew Pavlich
Rising Star: Michael Hurley.

StKilda - I think 2009 will drive them.
Adelaide - Can't see them losing much at home and they will win enough away.
Collingwood - The adds this year should take them up a level.
Geelong - Will still be a force.
Brisbane - Despite his problems, Fevola adds another dimension here.
Hawthorn - Will not get off to the slow start they did in 2009.
Western Bulldogs - Will still be on the pace.
Carlton - Their midfield should carry them though to a finals appearance.
Port Adelaide - Think they will win enough to challenge
West Coast - Will win a lot more at home this year. Could sneak in.
North Melbourne - Like their youngsters and could be the surprise performers.
Swans - Will be competitive in most games.
Essendon - A huge loss of experience, be a great performance to make 8.
Fremantle - Hard to assess but something is not right here. Don't rate the coach.
Melbourne - A couple of years away. Should get 6 or 7 wins.
Richmond - Just don't rate the current list. Some need to improve dramatically.

Realistically I think any of my top 5 could finish 1st.

Everyone is being way too conservative here, when has the ladder ever been this similar two years running.

Adelaide - The scores the crows were getting at the end of 09 are just the beginning
Geelong - Havent really lost anything from last year
Brisbane - Too much fire power for most defences
Footscray - Now or never for the dogs, may well come good
Hawthorn - Too much talent retained and added to stay down
Port Adelaide - Good looking list, could rebound strongly
St. Kilda - Gave it everything in 09 and had more than their fair share of luck, not in 2010
Collingwood - More deficiencies than most people realise forward and back

North Melbourne - Looking well rounded, on the up
West Coast - should win most at Subi
Sydney - Not enough players in the key 25-29 y/o range
Essendon - KP's are too inexperienced but will come along quickly i suspect
Fremantle - Another year of inconsistency for the dockers
Carlton - Won't recover after a poor start to the year
Melbourne - Playing a team with an average age of 21 wont win many games short term
Richmond - Not completely without hope but someone's got to finish last

Top four:
Adelaide
Bulldogs
St.Kilda
Brisbane

Next four:
Geelong
Hawthorn
Carlton
West Coast

After that:
Collingwood
Nth. Melb.
Port
Freo

Bottom four:
Essendon
Richmond
Sydney
Melbourne

This year will be one that will surprise quite a bit.
Not confident with what I have up there at all other than knowing it won't be them same eight again.

Some of the powers will drop and don't expect 20 wins from St.Kilda this year.
It won't need more than an average run of injuries for them to take the slide.
Hawthorn can't do worse than last year and will make the eight at worst.

apart from the obvious, I really like your work. It's a good effort.

Every year people assume the 8 will be pretty much exactly the same as last year, with 1-2 changes and maybe a shuffle. It's bullshit.

In this annual thread last year, if you'd accurately predicted the final makeup of the 8 you would have been laughed out of town.

I like the way you're thinking

1. Bulldogs
2. Adelaide
3. Hawthorn
4. St. Kilda
5. Geelong (I think they'll finish top 4 but go out in straight sets)
6. Collingwood
7. Brisbane
8. West Coast

9. Sydney
10. Carlton
11. Port Adelaide
12. Essendon
13. North Melbourne
14. Melbourne
15. Richmond
16. Fremantle
