Not at all imo. I think Mumford and Hudson are clearly ahead on impact in games. Stats don't really tell the story with them.

Coaches votes give a good indication in this regard. I don't like using stats or votes to much but in this case:

Sandilands 68 votes (polled in 12 games)
Jamar 29 votes (8 games)
Mumford 29 votes (7 games)
Hudson 23 votes (8 games)
Ryder 4 votes (1 game)

While I agree with your top 10 for the most part, for mine Ablett is too high. His numbers might look brilliant on paper but he went through a patch where he had barely any impact on games. He was third on 33 after 7 rounds but since then has only polled 19 votes in 12 games. And it's not like he's begrudged any votes because he did win the award last season.

I also think you've got Judd and Pavlich too low. Judd's 5th overall in the Coaches Votes despite missing 3 games and clearly the best player in his team yet you've got him out at 15. Likewise, Pavlich was arguably the best performed player in the competition to round 11 and while he's dropped off since then, a drop to 25 is too far for mine. He's fallen almost as far as Barlow has who hasn't played a game in 5 weeks. Over the course of the season I'd suggest he's played more good games than a number of those above him.

Don't really think there should be much at all seperating those three. Ablett and Judd slightly above Pavlich perhaps, but to be 20 positions above is strange in my opinion, when they've all had similar seasons to date (weeks of brilliance followed by a drop off in form).

Good points. I'll move Ablett to 7th then at worst.

Not sure about Judd. 11th/12th at best for him. He has had some quiet games as well.

Pav likewise maybe should be higher, maybe in the top 20 but I was looking at Mundy for his guide. I'd tip most Freo fans would probably say Mundy has had a better year.

Good to see the Beard get a gig, has been ultra consistent this year but only people who watch him play can appreciate his work as he is not a high hitout ruckman. Behind Sandilands and Jamar it is a toss of coin who gets the AA squad third ruckman gig between him and Mumford, they are neck and neck and the last 3 games will prob decide it.

As far as WCE goes, Priddis has been our No.1 player and will likely win the B&F. With Waters now missing games, LeCras is the only other chance. But if LeCras makes the 50, id put Priddis in there too, he will win our B&F.

Our other best players are Matt Rosa and Dean Cox, neither deserve to make the 50. But Priddis has been great for us this year. Although late 30's at very best.

On Mumford, if he had played every game thus far, id have had him above Jamar. Will be an absolute beast imo.

Priddis has improved a fair bit this year but I guess I've just got his old habits still in my head. Master of the hospital handball in previous years. He has been in the unluckies for well over half the season so I guess I've had him around 50 the whole time. Could easily come in for Rischitelli. Tuck is another who has been pretty good but I have his old form in my head.

Grima's increadibly stiff not to be in the 50, let alone the unlucky's AG.

Unless it is because he has missed a few through injury....

North have a 9.5 record with him in the side, we havn't won a game when he has missed through injury.....

Leads the competition in spoils, averages 19 disposals a game.

Only 5 talls are ahead of him on champion data point averages (Pavlich, Sandilands N.Riewoldt, Lake, Franklin).

He should go in the unlucky's, I don't think he is top 50 material though. As an opposition supporter it's hard to notice players like that before they start to become well known. Only started to notice him around round 8ish.

I forgot Morris as well, so add him to the list.

The only player I would have in there from Adelaide would be Rutten. Shut down Hall last weekend, Riewoldt the week before, and is very close to our best player this season, very rarely beaten. A little stiff to not even be on the unlucky's IMO. Goodwin would have been a definite for mine pre injury, and if Johncock had played 2 or 3 more games there is no way he could be excluded, one of the best running defenders in the league, so critical to our side and structure.

Finally watched a fair bit of football. Watched everything apart from WCE v BRI, NTH v FRE and the second half of STK v PTA.

Excellent team of the week... Wellingham and Didak were our best although Swan, Thomas & O'Brien were all good... and I can't see any names from other sides that should be there and aren't.

How is Barlow still 27th? He had a great year no doubt but it's nearly been 2 months since he got injured. You're be very kind on him. If they were doing an AA team now of the 22 best players would he be close? No he wouldn't.
I reckon he would. SJ made it in 07 missing 6 games and that's how many Barlow has missed. He will start dropping a fair bit after next week because 6 is the limit imo, once players miss 7 I treat them as dud games.

You got me there because I hadn't even thought of or noticed Rutten for some reason. Goodwin, Douglas and Thompson are probably the top 3 I think of. Johncock has missed too many games.

I guess he gets under the radar a little bit because he isn't fashionable, but he has been an AA. Definetley still the 3rd best FB in the league behind Lake and Scarlett, and has had another very good year.

How about the silent assassin, Prestigiacomo?

No TOTW because I didn't watch enough football. Only watched three games COL v ESS, SYD v FRE and MEL v HAW. Sort of watched GEE v WBD but I wasn't really paying attention. I might watch some replays during the week but I doubt I'll have time.

A bit rushed this week so I might have made a few mistakes.

EDIT: I haven't updated the unlucky list properly for a while so some of those might be a bit off.

Nice update AG. I really like the order of the midfielders you've got going at the moment.

From a Geelong perspective, separating Ablett, Selwood and Chapman isn't getting any easier. Personally I'd rank Selwood ahead of Chapman but it's easy to overlook Chapman's early season form at this point in the season especially with the form Selwood is in.

I'd have Johnson a little bit higher, but I can understand the reasons for him being where he is. Also glad to see the recognition for Kelly, he's having a great year in our midfield.

Final one for the year. Not many would argue that Swan has been the best this year. Waddles around the field but he gets the job done nearly every week. Will probably win the B & F of a potential premiership side and that's a pretty obvious sign he is a gun. Late season form cost Hodge but he carried Hawthorn for most of the season and deserves his no.2 spot. Goddard is the modern day player and has a very consistent season. Ablett rounds out the top 4. His little form slump seems to have caused some to underrate his year but his first 10 rounds and last 6ish have been Brownlow material.

Top 15 was the easiest part, the order can change around a bit but I think I have the right players. 16th - 42nd is where all the shifting can occur and where most would argue about the order. eg. Kelly at 36 and Bartel at 19 seems to big a gap. Some would probably do a straight swap for those two this year.

Last 6 spots were tricky. I wasn't sure what to do with Barlow but one of the Brownlow favourites for over half the year probably does deserve to stay in. Rioli might seem a surprise but he has finally broken overrated tag this season imo. He has been very good in the middle and floating around the forward line. Fletcher and Hudson are the two I really wanted to fit in, so maybe they should be ahead of some of the last few. Maybe one of the Port trio should be in as well.
