Great list AG, enjoy your work thoroughly.
Bit of an indictment on the way the Carlton midfield has dropped away.
Scotland was on fire, but has had a season of two distinct halves.
Murphy lucky to still be in there.
Gibbs nowhere to be seen.
Judd finishing outside of the top 10 (let alone top 5).
Hopefully we'll be able to rectify that next year.
Maybe turn your attention to a finals MVP list!

Do you think he's lucky? I might bring Hudson in for him.
He has still had another good year though and could easily scrape into the top 10.

Murphy's good finish to the season probably nabs him the spot. Gibbs also finished well but was coming from too far behind. Probably in the next 10-15 players, along with Scotland.
Waite's season was very good however games missed and poor form early costs him badly. A full season from him and he'd have made it easily.

I was pretty close but the majority would be. It's the order that makes everyone have different opinions. I'll probably use this thread next year for my AA squad since they are just picking a best 40 players now, rather than doing the 12 defenders/16 mids/12 forwards format.
Although it has to include 3 ruckmen so it's technically the best 37 players + the 3 best ruckmen (assuming none are in the top 40).

Thought I'd look back over it now that Sheahan has done his list. I'm still fairly happy with the players I picked but maybe I probably should have had Rawlings in. Looking back Thompson and Murphy are the only ones I'm iffy about now. I think Sheahan includes finals for his list so that's the only difference with my list.
Rawlings had a fantastic season, and could have easily slotted in there for the last 5 or so on your list. But pretty spot on I reckon, closer than Sheehan's IMO. Can't believe Watson didn't make Sheehan's though, remarkable omission.

Out: Cooney, Bartel, Cross, Watson, Malceski, Barlow, Rischitelli, Thompson, Murphy
It's all opinion but you'd think that the first 4 outed mids would have made it in the top 50. As I said before Murphy and Thompson the only iffy selections looking back and I'd probably bring Ball and Rawlings in for them. Next year I might include finals as well in my list, that way its easier to compare.
