Kersten is a prodigious kick. He can consistantly bang them through from 60m; Lingy's toe-pokes just aren't in the same ball park.

Not sure all med/tall forwards need big vertical. StevieJ doesn't get much air at all and goes ok.

Footy smarts, rat-cunning and a natural sniff for goal are attributes that will always serve a forward well. With a full-time diet of football, hopefully Kersten can hone some of these skills over the next few years.

Big kick! he's a must to have forward, and a big leap! just makes him all the more difficult to matchup if he's as fast as the test show.
Half forward flank seems obvious. :)

Well they almost took him a few years ago when we were perceived to lack outside run. But we didn't have the cash to get him.

I dont see what he would add.

Distraction thats what he would add VC. He would also deprive some kid a chance. A kid who may be this years Bundy.

Why should he get drafted? Just another footy sob story. Oh don't we all feel sorry for the guy looking for a chance that no one wants to give? Ahh No.

Some would say sorry but I'm not sorry at all. We are not the salvos or some united way money grabing charity , we are a football club thats is not desperate and has a reputation to uphold and protect. Give me Pods and Orrin and even McLean or some other guy who has killed himself for just one chance , not a bloke that has involved himself in stuff that has seen him flicked from two other clubs. I would rather bring Nathan back in than this waster of talent.

PASS

Anyone else hearing the rumour of Geelong being linked with Lovett?

I think it's simply based on the fact that when Essendon offered him in the Prismall deal we said that we rated him, but we had no room under the cap, therefore journalist assumption that we must be interested now.

There's nothing to indicate we're interested this time around and I'd be very surprised if we wanted him.

RE: Lovett. I was always a huge admirer of his football ability.

What a wonderful sight it was when he was in full flight. Unfortunately he has made some terrible decisions in his private life and he is suffering the consequences. Like any bleeding heart liberal I believe strongly in second chances but I don't think he is the right fit for Geelong at this point in time. That said he is definitely a better bet than Fevola or Nathan Ablett.

Bomber must have got his mail from someone else as Hird gave St Kilda a glowing reference for Lovett

Hird and Bomber = best mates

Hird and StKilda/Lyon = couldn't give a stuff

Hird wanted Lovett outta there....so.....glowing reference to St Kilda!

Makes sense.

I'd take Lovett if he was available and in excellent physical condition:thumbsu:

at the end of the day...were here to win premierships not win the most prestigious footy culture award;)

His speed would be so important during the season with Varcoe, Wojak & now Murdoch taking off when the scores are tied, 20 minutes into the 4th quarter and we got Stevie J, Hawkins & Pods calling for the ball deep

No just curious how you happenened to see him at a "T**ty bar"!!

With my eye's at the bar doing shots with his gold chained laden friends.
Note: not the first time..have nothing against him being there whats so ever, but as far as a professional footballer trying to get on an AFL list, not quite the way to go about things and is probably why geelong or any other club will not list him.
No doubting his football skills. but would we want him around our 18 and 19 year olds was my point!

definitely get boseley, we need a developing KPD.

Boseley will more than likely be gone by the time our first pick (18) rolls around. Wells and the guys obviously don't really rate him, had the chance to pick him up at pick 66, but obviously thought there were better options available (McCarthy). We had the chance as did many others.

We won't get him.
can he hit targets? heard his kicking lets him dowmn, may be wrong guy

Fortunately there's still a few others in this Rookie Draft that suit our need for a tall defender other than Boseley, not because of what he does in his spare time either, but if someone else takes him, there'll be other talls.

Still wouldn't mind Dobosz, tall forward from Tasmania, think he's only 18, who knows what position he'll play by the time he play senior footy????
But, he does have 'X' factor talent.
Then there's Xavier Richards, good AFL pedigre, and 194cm, wouldn't mind! Taller than Boseley.
Wells may well look for a mature age but with some of the tall talented youth overlooked in the draft, he has choices, first pick may well be Miocek or Darrou.
